So where where were we?

Kathia is a weird human being but she has so many reasons to be like that . Let's get to know her more as they approach Lucinda's house.

KATHIA

By the time we got to Lucinda, it was around some minutes past 6.Am. This would be my first time of meeting the lady. I wondered how Anna got to know her but I didn't ask, all through the time we spent in the taxi, she didn't say a single word and I was glad because I was still pretty shaken about my dream and still very exhausted.

Anna pressed the door bell and the door was immediately opened by a young lady in a pink pyjamas, she  could not have been older than 35-36. Full curly black hair, tall, full lips and written on her chest was a description "BOOBS NOT FOR SALE", I chuckled at that.

"Hey" She beamed at us.

"Lucinda" Anna shouted excitedly and embraced her.

. No way! That was Lucinda? I had watched too many  movies where the witches were old, walk with an ugly stick, an arched back and wrinkly long nose.

This witch was very pretty and her black skin was flawless. I doubted that she used facial mask or expensive products-Oh...I just remembered Anna said she is not a witch....my bad.

"Anna, your friend is starring at me"

I heard her say to Anna who kicked me with her elbow and I flushed in embarrassment.

"She has never met a psychic before and I bet she expected you not to look this beautiful"

I gasped at my friend's outburst and truth, but I kept quiet and instead smiled at Lucinda who took my hand warmly..her smile was already making me relax.

"I am happy to meet you Kathia" She said warmly.

"Me too" I replied.

Her apartment was not really that big but was well furnished , you could see pink almost  everywhere. her couch, her wall paper, her ceiling was painted both white and pink.

CNN was displaying on her 42'' TV screen which was muted and she quickly rushed to a corner of her room and brought out a tray of three cups of steaming coffee.

"Oh!Bless you Lucinda!" Anna said as she took a cup as she took two cups and passed mine to me.

Just as we three settled on a couch, a cute little chihuahua strolled in. I almost laughed, She had a puppy and not a cat..wow, I love this woman honestly.

"Oh come here Pinky.." She beckoned to the puppy and carried her in her laps.

"She is beautiful" I said before I could help myself.

"Yes she is" Lucinda replied proudly, "Barely two months old, a gift from a customer"

"Woow!" Anna and I chorused. Then I remembered the word 'customer.'  I hadn't come with a purse, Anna had paid our T-fare and I had come empty handed. Well, I did hope she has already planned this out.

"So tell me about your dreams" Lucy said to me, looking serious.

"I can't remember everything but I do remember what I had today"

"Just tell me something what is consistent in all of them, something similar to all of them"

I sipped from the cup a little before I replied." Well, there is this man whom I always see his back view and never for once his real face. I always see myself falling in an abandoned field, or an old building, or a maze.."

"How do you feel in each dream?"

"Abandoned, lost, confused, scared"

Lucinda took a deep breath and thought for a while.

"Which scared you the most?" SHe asked after a while.

"The one I had today" I replied and narrated everything to her while Anna listened.

"She practically screamed in real life Lucy, I was terrified, I had to call you" Anna said after I just finished narrating the dream.

"I will be right back" Lucy said and lifting the puppy softly in one arm, she walked out of view.

"You like her don't you?" Anna asked, giving me a cocky smile.

I smiled, "She seems very nice"

"She is not a witch like all those Yoruba movies please. She has a special gift of seeing vision and interpreting dreams." Anna said, giving me a knowing smile.

"I can see that, babe." I replied, fully admitting. This made her happy and she winked at me.

Lucy came in, and put the puppy carefully on the carpeted floor, then she pulled a pack of cards out of her back pocket and sat on the couch, one leg on the floor while the other was curled on the couch. Then spreading the cards with their backs turned to us, she said. "Pick one"

I exchanged glances with Anna and then I extended my right hand and picked one.

Then she brought the cards back together and collected it , she looked at the picture and then turned it to us so we could see the picture of a woman in front of a mirror whose reflection was not shown in the mirror but a clock was seen instead, in the mirror. The mirror reminded me of the dream I had.

later she placed it on her laps so we could all see. She studied the card for a while and then said-

"This is time, seeing yourself and seeing time. The mirror here symbolizes your soul..the real you which is trapped in a time. Now with the look of the clock, because it is seen in the mirror, it is not ticking like the normal mirror, it shows at if it ticks anti-clock-wisely which doesn't mean future but means the past "

"What does this mean Lucy?" Anna asked before I could.

"We would see. Pick another card" Lucy replied and spread the cards again.

I hesitated at first but then I picked and this time turned the card to me first and then to Anna and finally to Lucy. It was a picture of a woman  turned upside down in an old garden, filling her cups with flowers. 

"This shows a bad side. You lived a bad life in your past life, that brought disasters to everyone around you and even yourself"

I was getting so confused.

"Lucy I don't understand all this, please explain. I have never lived here before, I mean, I got kicked out of foster homes and .."

"Sh!" She silenced me quietly and then with a smile, spread the cards again.

Arrrgh! Those stupid cards!

The third card was a picture of a naked man, holding a wand.

"Well, this is far better than all you 've been picking girl" Anna joked.

"This symbolizes that in your past and present. You have been making some wrong choices concerning relationships .."

"You have no idea" I heard Anna muttered but I ignored her as Lucy kept talking.

"..and it appears the wrong choice started in your past to your present and will affect your future. This choice you made messed your future up and you are here  in your present to go back in time and fix it"

Okay, maybe I didn't hear the psychich right, to do what! Go back in the freaking time! Excuse me I am not Doctor WHo!

"I beg your pardon Lucy, you should know, I don't even understand anything about all these. This is not an American movie pleae..This is Nigeria! Go back to where! "

Lucy smiled and said calmly. "I have never had such a reading like yours before Kathia. It is very very strange. You are here but you are not really here.

. You see, it is like saying you have lived before in some times back and now you were reborn to fix some mistakes you did in the past which is affecting your present and would definitely ruin your future. You may never find true happiness until you fix your past."

"So how in the hell is she going to her past? This is not a friggin' movie!" Anna cried. I could see she was as terrified as I was.

"In the dream you had, you saw yourself telling you to go back, Yes, your subconscious knows this but your brain doesn't want to believe in anything abnormal. You will lead yourself to your past else that pit you were falling was just a glimpse of your future, total darkness and a bottomless pit."

Oh my God! Am I lucifer now! Bottomless pit really!

"You did terrible things in your past life, and fate will punish you for that if she is not already doing that. I can see you had a rough childhood and you have no idea how blank your future is going to be. Somehow, you have led terrible lives even after that one, each had either resulted into death or something worse Now this is your last chance to redeem yourself and save your future"

Part of me believed every single thing she was saying. All the weird feeling I used to have about myself, as if I wasn't really me and that I was trapped somewhere and i COULD only be complete when I find myself, my dreams...she was right. SHe was so right but this is stupid, so stupid and unbelievable..i mean, this is Nigeria for Gods sake.!

I stood up.

It was too much to digest go back in time,myself will find me, who the hell says that? and what does that even mean! But of course myself found me in my dream..dear God I am running mad!

"I know it's difficult to take in. I cannot believe it myself but you know its true.You know it answers most of the questions you have been asking yourself. Time is running out Kathia, next time in your dream, be ready to go back in time or fall again into the darkness and it gets worse each time. remember, all you need is to be ready"

I could hear everything she was saying but I was so lost.

"Thank You so much for your help Lucy" I heard Anna said to her faintly but I was already walking out of the room like someone in a trance..
