Chioma - Episode 9

Are you a witch? David asked chioma who shook her head, moving to a corner of her bed, she was wary of him, and he seem to like it, he felt like putting her in place.

Are you possessed? He asks, combing his hair with his fingers...."I don't know any normal person that would push Ella out of my house, call her names, ruin my shirts and my good day.....

I-im s-so s-so sorry! Chioma stammered, she looked so scared and fragile with legs folded like a babies leg. David stared at her pale face, and at the shirts, ruined with starch.  Rule,no.4, its a plea, please don't handle my laundry, please.

And with that he barged out just like he had barged in. "I don't like being the bad guy, why does she have to make me be one...he thought trying to get rid of her frightened face but couldn't it was stuckrd into his brain.

Chioma's POV

"He made me cry for what I didn't do....she said for the fifth time and as the other times, she started crying all over again. It went on till Chioma got drained ....Are you sure you are crying because of his words or the fact that he left you hungry? She rolled her eyeballs at her mind's assumption, she lays on her bed twitching her mouth" It's my punishment !she confirms her mind's assumption then she started covering her blanket over her body.

She slept hungry till morning, David didn't cook and how could she eat when he didn't cook. She listens and hears him zooming off in his car

. "Good riddance! She whispers wearing her flip-flops before going to the dinning room.On her arrival, she smiles, the pack of golden morn was just awaiting her, her best cereal, she made a mental note to thank him later, the water in the flask was still hot.

Wow, so nice of him.She smiles again, she takes her seat, before pouring the cereal in a bowl, milk was on stand by, sugar mandatory, she turns it making it look like pasta, the way she loves it, she sat back and enjoyed her breakfast. "Chioma, I can't believe you just forgave that troll because of food? Her mind mocked her

He isn't a troll! Did I just say that aloud? She asked giggling.

. After the food, she spend her time in the tub, it was comforting, at least for the moment. She had nothing to do, nowhere to go, No friend to visit, don't blame the poor girl,she was born with conditions to a travelling doctor(her father)and to a famous architect (her mother). Though her mum tried all her best to be her friend but due to work, Chioma was usually babysitted by an old woman who died last year.

I thought David would replace all! She said cleaning tears, unbelievably she had started crying in the tub.

The doorbell rings and she goes to check it, she knew it would never be David, he wouldn't have rang the doorbell. He never does.

Hello madam. A man greeted her, he had  these scary tribal marks  that made her wary but the man only smiled at her, "I'm Mathew Ola Johnson, from Import and Export Exchange Nigeria Ltd, a package to be received by one Mr David Jack just arrived.

That was when Chioma saw, the box wrapped in brown paper with David's name scrawl on it, she wondered about getting it or leaving it  and decided against the later. I'm Mrs Jack.Chioma said smiling at the man, finally, he smiled back and gave her a paper to sign

"I'm guessing its for you! he says and winks, Chioma blushed the man taking the package inside. Her excitement held no bounds ....." David gave me an apology gift! she shouts tearing the wraps off.

Wow,these are beautiful, shoot me, there are amazing. She says, removing the necklace first from the velvet case, it was all diamonds, a 24 step necklace made of diamonds? Her  breathing accelerated with excitement, these were the first brand produced, it wasn't even in Nigeria's market but here she was holding it.She put them on, the necklace and earings, glittering. Amazing! She hummed, staring at the mirror, in the corridor. The front door opens and she beams, David was going to like how well they fit her, she thoughts, then turns and meets him with a smile.
