Chromosomes

In Mantikwa village, located in the Eastern part of Africa, Mbenifo, a village hunter and warrior, falls in love with Nfikiyo, the most beautiful girl in the village. They solidify their bond of love by getting married. This love however becomes sour when Nfikiyo bears a female child for Mbenifo, against his expectation of a male child. He is disappointed and unhappy. He must do everything possible to earn the respect of his fellow men by having a male child. Nfikiyo on the other hand must do all she can to save her marriage from crumbling.
