Eve - Episode 20

The place was as beautiful as Eve envisioned it to be with the butterflies hovering around the coloured montain of flowers. 

"Here" Quam offered a white rose to her holding it up for her to take it but she just looked at it "it's rare. A white rose. I think it signifies purity" he tried again to gift her with it pushing it in her direction before she finally took it.

"It's beautiful" her eyes roamed on the delicate flower. "Thank you"

Prince Quam couldn't help beaming like a child as he stood lost for words. 

"Do you visit here often?" Eve broke the silence looking all around her feeling the force of the earth registered in all its glory.

"Yes. My father owned it. So I guess you can say it's mine" he smiled watching her. At least he was pleased he was able to make her smile.

Then a growl was heard all over the garden loud and ferocious. Quam was almost surprised except he knew of the mis-happennings that went down in this land but what vexed him the most was that it came at this moment he was spending with the Shokè he couldn't comprehend like before. The one that somewhat made him seem like a child.

The growl got louder the closer it came till it stood face to face with Quam and the princess. 

Eve had sensed it's presence but couldnt do anything about it to prevent suspicion from the human.

. So she tried acting scared or shocked which didn't quite appear on her face like Quam had thought. 

It was a walking plant the size of a giant with big razor sharp teeth snapping at Quam who docked the attempt to snap off his shoulder.

"Hide Shokè"

Un moving she worried more for the human. It was a cursed plant. Not as easy to defeat as one would think. 

"Shokè!" He was shouting now and Eve had forgotten the name of her vessel at the time as he pushed her out of harms way causing the plant to hit Quam hard in the guts sending him flying. 

Quickly Eve ran to the prince side as slow as possible trying to maintain a human stroke girls form but the look on Quam''s face said quite the opposite. 

"Are you ok?" Eve touched his body searching with each touch a broken area faster than he could move so she would heal his bones.

He flexed his muscles although aware of the creature but more of Shokè 's hands roaming his body. How he would wish the moment lasted but the creature got closer.

"Surprisingly I'm fine" shocked for a moment he flexed some more looking up at Shokè.

"Get up it's coming"

Quickly Quam moved picking up Eve and placing her behind him as he searched for a weapon  of any kind. 

Eve watching him knew what he wanted and materialised a cutlass behind her. "See a cutlass" Eve said hurriedly passing it to him" 

Quickly the prince moved forward hoping he was victorious so he could make Shokè proud as he raised the cutlass blocking the attempt of the plant but it was too strong and the only thing that kept him standing was Shokè. He didn't want to be a joke beside her. So he moved to the left quick and brought the cutlass down on the creatures stem causing it to wail and hit him to the side. Quam groaned feeling a little light headed.

Eve watched with amusement as the human tried in battling the creature she almost praised him but she knew with he strength he will only grow weak and the cursed plant will consume him. So Eve entertained enough started to chant to herself and blew a kiss his way while his attempt on cutting the neck of the plant was in progress.

Quam felt strength from no where and just as quick cut through the neck without any effort at all, like slicing through butter. Shocked but triumphant he moved back watching the creature gush out black liquid. 

"You ok?" Eve stood by his side and with a smile he nodded.

Why would the dark bring the havoc to my garden? They were supposed to destroy the land and the so called Eve not his home. Angry he was going to face them tonight.

"I should take you home. I am sorry for such a thing" 

"No, not at all. After all you saved me" Eve smirked to herself as Quam led the way.
