Forgetting You - Episode 44

*** HAILEY'S POV

I'm panicking.

So much so that so that I feel my breath coming out in short spams.

I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack.

My vision is blurry. I blink rapidly trying to get rid of the heavy feeling in my chest but it just keeps getting worse.. I look around the dark corner where Jason had told us to hide.

Apparently, we couldn't escape through the secret tunnel.

Hank had had his men lock up every single exit and now we're stuck.

It won't be long till Hank finds us.

I shut my eyes, biting my lips to prevent the sob threatening from escaping me.

Memories of the torture I've had to endure over the years fills my mind and I know if Hank finds me, then I'm dead.

He's not gonna spare me regardless of me being his favourite.

"Hails. Hails!"

I feel hands on my shoulders and I look up to meet Jason's gaze.

"Everything's gonna be alright Hails.

"He tells me and I shake my head. I know it won't. It won't. "Don't cry mummy"

Olivia reaches out to wipe my tears and I grab her little hands kissing it.

"I'm fine baby. Mama's fine"

"Come here"

Jason pulls me into him with one hand, the other one carrying Olivia and I wrap my arms around both of them.

"I'm scared Jason

. All the exits have been locked. How do we get out of here?"

I sob into his chest and he strokes my hair.

"I'll find a way Hails. I'll protect you with my life if I have to"

"Search everywhere. Every nook and cranny. Bring them to me alive!!"

I hear Hank ordering people and I pull away from Jason instantly, fear crippling me all over again.

"This is all my fault."

Tess cries but then Alex wraps his arms around her in a soothing embrace.

"No it's not. You were only looking out for us"

After a moment, Alex pulls away abd then reaches out into his rather oversized black leather jacket and pulls out a tablet.

"I'm going to alert the police, just in case"

he says as if reading our minds and begin to type furiously.

After a moment he takes out a pen drive, inserts it into the slot and types more.

"What are you doing?"

Tess asks

"I'm sending a copy of the videos we got from the hidden cam in the club as well as some shady business deals and girl trafficking business I found on Hank's laptop to a friend of mine. He's a police. I'm sending him a red alert message too. I just pray he gets this and arrives on time.. Otherwise..."

Alex trails off allowing us to process his words.

He types a little more and then switches off the tab and pushes it back into his jacket.

"Did you delete the message you sent? Just incase we are caught and we get searched"

Jason asks.

"I did"

Alex answers and just then we hear barking.

I gasp and step backwards, my back hitting the wall.

They're using the help of a dog to find us by trailing our scent.

We all stare at each other.

The barking keeps getting closer and I know the dogs are near.

Too near.

"J..Jason"

I grip him tightly and he looks down at me with an apologetic look.

"I couldn't protect you Hails. I'm sorry"

he says and I blink.

A dog barks. I flinch and turn.

Olivia grabs Jason tightly in fear at the sound.

We all turn. In front of us stood a huge black bull dog, without a tail.

It's mouth was open widely, teeth looking like a vampire's fangs, saliva dripping out of the sides of it's mouth.

It was scary and I knew Hank used it for special purposes.

Just then another figure appears.

It was Jack.

Another appears holding the leash of the dog, he was smirking.

It was Hank Anderson.

"Well hello there, it's a lovely night isn't it?"

He grins.

This night was going to be nothing but an unforgettable one for sure.

I groan as I feel another slap on my cheeks.

Another slap, again and again until I taste blood in my mouth.

I sit on the bare ground of the dungeon and crouch further away from Hank Anderson.

But he lifts his walking stick and hits my stomach. I groan and cough blood.

"Let her go please. Do whatever you want with me but please stop hurting her. Please"

Jason pleads. I don't lift my head to stare at him.

I can't.. After we were dragged back down here, Hank had his men search us till they retrieved the guns from Alex and Jason, their pen drives and the tablet.. Jason was right.

They would have known we had sent an alert to the police force if Alex hadn't deleted the message.

"Shut your f*cking mouth you twat! You were the one who supposedly died during the duel right? I wonder how the news managed to get posted on social media and I wonder how you were not breathing when I checked but I'll come back to you. I'll make sure I kill you first but for now.."

Hank turns to me, grabbing my hair.

I groan.

Tears leave my eyes

"Madeleine never lied when she told me you had a child who is alive and kicking. I didn't believe her when she told me that message sent from her phone saying she had supposedly killed you was a lie. I should have known you were the one who sent that message through her phone because you're aware I don't want you dead. And I'll kill anyone who dares harm you because you're one of my most prized possessions. But today, I'll kill you myself!"

He sneers and slaps me twice.

"Bring me the water!!!"

Hank orders and my eyes widen..

"No no. Please. please Hank. Please"

I beg but he only smiles. Jack brings a bucket of water and stands behind me.

"No. No. Please"

My pleads fall on deaf ears as one of his men strips me leaving me in just my bra and underwear.

And then I felt it.. A bucket of melting ice, cold water was suddenly poured on me and I scream in agony as the ice coupled with extremely cold water falls on my bare skin.

It doesn't take long for me to start shivering.

Soon, I feel another bucker of ice being poured on me. And it continues for five consecutive times till I'm left shivering in agony.

JASON'S POV

Thirty minutes.

It's been thirty minutes or so I think and all I could do was watch helplessly as Hailey is being assaulted.

I watch as she curls her body into a ball, shivering from the bucket of melting ice that was continuously poured on her.

Theresa whimpers beside me and I turn to find two men caressing every part of her body.. I struggle.

I want to punch the living daylight out of them for daring to touch my sister but I'm held back.

Damn it! I press Olivia's face into my shoulders so she doesn't have to see what's going on. She grips me tighter and sobs.

I know she can tell something is wrong.

"Now back to you pretty boy"

Hank turns his attention to me.

"How come you survived the duel? How did you pull that off without me noticing any foul play?"

He asks Because you're a fool.

I think.

"Answer me!"

He demands.

I remain quiet.

"You wanna play the hard way? Fine. Jack!"

He calls out to the man who had poured the ice on Hailey and hands him his walking stick.

"Do the honours"

"Sure boss"

the Jack guy answers and walks towards me, twirling the stick.... He smirks.

He lifts the stick to hit me and I immediately turn around so it doesn't hit Olivia.

I feel the stick hit my back and I groan.

I hold Olivia tighter.

"Everything is fine baby. Daddy's here... Nothing..."

I trail off when I feel another hit on my back.

F*ck! I bite my lip hard to stop myself from groaning in pain.. Two men hold me in place as the Jack guy continues to administer blows after blows on my back and I drop to my knee, my spine unable to take it anymore.

I feel weak, tired even but I can't let them win.. I have to protect Olivia.

"Daddy"

Olivia cries lifting her head but I push her face back into my shoulders.

"Don't look baby. I'm fine. I'm fine."

I groan this time feeling a blow at the back of my neck.

"Jason!!!!!"

"That's enough Jack. Let me just kill him. I need to concentrate on the rest too"

I hear Hank say.

I hear him cock his gun. I shut my eyes, ready for the hit.

. It's over.

I failed.

Hank Anderson was ready to shoot when one of his men barges into the dungeon.

"Boss. Police!! Some of them have infiltrated the mansion already. We've been surrounded!"

Hank hisses

"The f*ck! How?!!"

He turns to his prisoners.

"Who amongst you called the police?!"

Silence.

"I said who the f*ck amongst you called the police!!"

More silence.

"I guess you all love being silent so I might as well silence you all forever. You three,go out,get more men and make sure those police men don't get here. Jack, go and open the other secret door in my room and wait for me. And three of you stay here"

Hank orders and they all disperse, rushing out.

"Hank Anderson, you've been surrounded both in and out. It'll be in your best interest to surrender!!"

A voice booms from a megaphone.

Hank snorts.

"Surrender my foot!! Hank Anderson never surrenders to anyone!"

He turns to Jason who's back was facing him.

"I'll kill you and then take that little girl away. I'll train her to become the next Hailey bloom. But for now, aurvoiur! In your next life, learn to never double cross me"

Hank sneers and points the gun at Jason.

Theresa's eyes grows wide at the sight of her brother about to get shot.

She drags her tired body off the floor and runs towards Jason.

"Brother!!"

Hailey lifts her shivering self off the floor.

Her face was swollen and bloodied.

She notices Hank about to shoot Jason.

His back was turned to them as he held Olivia tightly to himself.

"Jason!!"

Hailey drags herself off the cold floor and with her last strength she too runs towards Jason.

Both Tess and Hailey run towards him to block the gunshot.

Just then.... Hank pulls the trigger.
