Fulfilling Wishes - Episode 4

so let's fast track to 7 years later, you know i told you we will be doing now and then, so don't worry. everything will still be understandable

7 YEARS LATER

Oh my God! Baby this is so beautiful!” Reeva screamed, still looking at the beautiful diamond ring on her finger, which sparkled with every of her movement.

Andy only smiled, putting the grocery bag on the table as they got in. “Well, I am glad you love it, babe.”

“I cannot wait to tell the girls!”Reeva screamed. “They are going to die.” She said quickly, picking her bag.

Andy was surprised. They still had lots of things they needed to unpack, starting with the grocery bag.

“Hey babe, do you mind if you help with the...” He watched as his fiancée fiddled with her phone and was walking to his room, slamming the door after her. He knew for sure that she hadn’t heard a single word that he had spoken.

“Well, I guess  I am on my own,” Andy said to himself and began to empty the bags. While he was doing that, his phone rang, it was his father. At first, he frowned.  He hadn’t expected his father to call him this soon, he had planned to call him instead and now, he had beaten him to it. He stopped and stared at the phone which kept on ringing on the table until he stopped.

Did Reeva speak to his father? No

. He was sure that she didn’t. There was no way such would have happened because his father never really approved of her and she actually was afraid of him. So, it was quite simple. Once he was done, he would call him back. He said to himself but just as he returned to what he was doing, the phone began to ring again. He sighed, he couldn’t allow it to go to voicemail this time, so he decided to pick it.

He walked towards the table, muttered some prayers and then pressed the ‘receive’ button.

“Hi, dad.” He tried to sound as excited as he could.

“Hey son, how are you doing?”

“Good dad.”

“So, have you thought about what you and I discussed?”

“Oh, we spoke about so many things dad, which of them?”

“The one where I told you not to be stupid in letting a woman take you for a fool! You don’t need a woman for anything son. All you need them for is just companionship, do you understand it? You can sleep with as many ladies as possible, but do not be as stupid as I was and go make a stupid a commitment with them. Do you get it?”

At first, he was mute. He couldn’t even say anything. What was he going to say? That he had just gotten engaged to one of the women, especially the one his father had called stupid on the first day he had taken her home. He still regretted everything that happened that day and he really wished he hadn’t done that.

He could have done what Ruthie said, he could have been subtle about the whole relationship, except that Reeva wanted more and he loved her to give her more.  Now that he had given her a ring, he hoped that she would at least be okay with that. He didn’t plan to upset his father again so there would be no wedding. With this, he hoped he would be able to satisfy both of them.

“Oh my God. That is one huge stone on your ring Reeva!” Pristin screamed on the screen as Reeva waved her finger at her two friends whom she was having a video call with.

“It is beautiful isn’t it?” She asked.

“Yes, and looks damn expensive too,” Skybae replied.

“I am so happy for you sweetie,” Pristin said, her face softening up and she was soon dabbing at her face with a handkerchief.

Reeva couldn’t stop giggling. “Is there a way that I can be showing this ring off without being so obvious about it?” She asked the both of them. “For instance, if I want to say bye-bye.” She said, waving her hands but showing the back of her hand more often than her palm.

“You are making it obvious.” Skybae pointed.

“Oops. I am sorry, you think so.” Reeva said again, covering her mouth and pretending to look sober.

“You are still showing it off.” Skybae started again and the three laughed.

“I think it’s okay to show it off, Reeva. You have earned this. Do you know how long you have wanted this?” Pristin said, her face brightening up.

“Since she was a child,” Skybae replied.

“You have been through so much Reeva, I think no one will kill you for showing off something that has been your dream for so long.” Skybae declared.

Reeva chuckled to herself, still admiring the ring. “I know right? You all remember Tony?”

“Of course. It’s still like yesterday.”Skybae replied.

“He is such an ass. Do you know that he and meg broke up?” Pristin asked.

“Really? I stopped reading about him after the whole stuff that went down at his father’s last birthday.” Skybae replied. “Do you two still talk?”

Reeva shrugged. “No! There is absolutely nothing to talk about. I wasted too much time trying to get back to him. I went to law school because of him, you can imagine. I am not spending one more time talking about that idiot.”

“So you really went to law school because of him Reeva?” Skybae asked. “You told us you wanted to become a better person.”

“Yea, that too. But you all remember how devastated I was, I didn’t even think before driving to OT to find ask about their admission you know. But look at me now, I am a successful lawyer who will be getting married to a successful lawyer in probably two months time.”

The girls screamed at once. “Are you serious? That soon?”

“Well, is there anything else to wait for?” Reeva asked.

“Have you told Andy?”

“Well, there is no reason to, he must have probably thought about this before giving me a ring.”

Skybae hesitated a little. “Still, you need to talk to him you know. You both need to be on the same page.”

“Yea.” Pristin nodded.

“Well, you girls don’t need to worry about anything. Andy knows what he’s asking for, I know what he is asking for so, girls, do you know what this means?”

“Wedding gowns, jewelry, shopping!” The girls screamed at once.

“You are so right. So, Pristin, when are you coming back from Paris?” Reeva asked.

“Well, Nick is still having his tour and you know how much he wants me to go with him on every one of them but thank God. I can finally use this as an excuse to come back to L.A. So, I will get back as soon as possible.” Pristin replied.

Reeva smiled. “Well, that is one of the sparks you enjoy when dating a rock star. What about Skybae, Miss busy?”

Skybae rolled her eyes. “So not cool. My boss is not back from his trip but hopefully will be back next week. Once he comes, I will ask if I could leave for a few days, then we can all meet in L.A.”

“Perfect. I have missed you two so much.” Reeva cried.

“So have you told your mom?” Skybae asked.

“Not, yet, but I will once I finish making this call,” Reeva replied.

“Well, guys, I got to go back to work, I don’t want to get my ass fired soon.” Skybae pleaded.

“Ok, boss lady. See you soon.” Reeva said, waving her hand on purpose at her.

Skybae smiled. “I see your ring, congrats again. Bye Pristin.”  She left the conversation, remaining Pristin and Reeva.

“So, I guess I have to go as well, left Nick and the crew at the rehearsal, need to go back to them.”

“I still don’t understand what you do actually in the group. You don’t sing, dance or even play anything.”

“Well, I offer a moral support. Bye, Reeva will talk to you later. I love you, congratulations!”

Reeva smiled. “I love you too.”

Now she was all alone, she knew that this would be the perfect time to call her mother, in fact, she should go see her, not just to talk to her alone. Quickly, she stood up and walked out of the room.

She found Andy, arranging stuff into his fridge.

“Hey, babe. Care to help?”  He called out.

Reeva smiled and walked up to him to kiss him on the cheek. “Well, I would have loved to but I need to go see my mum.”

“Your mum?” Andy gasped. “Is it really important?”

“Baby! I just got engaged. There is nothing more important to her right now.”

Andy stood up and pulled her closer to her, warmly. “But there is no reason to rush; we need to start planning on how we will start living together as a couple. How to help each other, you know, you do the woman stuff, I do the man stuff.”

Reeva stared at him. “Well, I am doing the woman stuff; you should do the man stuff. I got to go, baby, don’t wait up, might sleepover or go to my place, I will call you, I love you.” She said, walking out of the house and closing the door behind her.

Andy gasped. This was not what he had planned, he had thought that by now, they would need to start planning on settling down, getting a bigger apartment and working on moving in together. But now, none of that was happening. What was the womanly stuff she talked about anyway? What was so womanly about rushing to her mother’s place....oh, well, she must be doing this so as to show her the ring.  Andy scoffed, this was not helping. Maybe he needed to call Ruthie.

He walked away from the fridge and picked the phone one table to dial a number. It was picked on the first ring.

“Hello, Ruthie.”

“Andy, how are you?” The older woman said.

“I’m fine Ruthie.” He said reluctantly.

“What is it, Son? You don’t sound fine.”

Andy sighed and lay on the couch.  “Ruthie I asked her to marry me, I put a ring on it.”

The woman said something in Spanish. “This is a great news Son, but why do you sound so sad?”

“Because I don’t know if dad will approve of that one I tell him and  I don’t want to upset him.

. I am just worried.”

The woman sighed. “You love Reeva don’t you?”

“Very much.” He replied.

“Are you two getting married?”

“No, Ruthie. That can’t happen. I just want us to move in together.”

“Move in? Does she know that?”

“Well, she will get to know that eventually.”

“That is a bad idea son.”

“But that is what I want. I promise dad that there will be no wedding and I am not interested in it. I don’t want to make the same mistake he did. I want to know her very well, to be sure that I can trust her.”

“Well, I can see that your mind is already made up.”

“Yes, Ruthie,”

“Then I wish you all the best. So you are not telling your father still?”

“I will tell him once I get my head settled. I will personally call him to tell him.”

“That will be wise my dear child, congratulations once again.”

Andy ended the call and threw the phone on the couch. Now, the next thing was, he needed to speak to a realtor, once he sets everything in place, Reeva would not have a choice than to go with it.

NOW, IM NOT SURE IF WE ARE GETTING THE PICTURE, BUT TO HELP-REMEBER REEVA IS ONLY ABOUT GETTING HER DREAM WEDDING AND ANDY IS TRYING TO FULFIL HIS DADS WISHES BY JUST MOVING IN ONLY WITHOUT GETTING MARRIED. LET'S SEE HOW THAT ENDS.
