Harder Choice

The story portrays some day to day choices young women, especially in Liberia, face in terms of career, education, and marriage. 

It is a story about a fictional character, Bella Meraz, from a typical contemporary African family. She was smart, beautiful, and hardworking. Unfortunately, she came from a family who never stopped making choices for her even at age 25. After being forcibly engaged to a relative, she fell in love with a stranger who, Farrakhan, and everything became complicated. 

Her family demanded she follows their choices, her fiance, Musto, was harsh, arrogant, a woman womanizer but she must marry because he is family. Things got worse between Bella and Musto as she felt deeply in love with Farrakhan. Farrakhan learned that she was engaged and denied his feelings for her only so she could go ahead with the plans her family had for her. Bella, being at age 25, had many pressures about settling down as a Mandingo and African woman. Bella's best friend, Seyata, also faced a tragic incident that led to her death on the very day her boyfriend planned to propose. 

An interesting part of the story came after Farrakhan left the country to avoid disrupting her relationship, Bella got rape by her fiance Musto,  and at the same time, she got a job offer from a dream company but she would have to be gone for almost ten years.
Now she has to make the harder choices. Stay and just get married to the brutal fiance who forcibly took her virginity, wait for Farrakhan’s return and profess her love but would he accept her? or accept the job offer and be gone even though her age is not decreasing.
