CLINTON’S POV

I knew it! Anderson is a miniature bastard. Yes! A son who doesn’t want the happiness of his father is never a son. I was already talking to my lawyer when Paul’s call came through.
“Sir please you have to be here in the next five minutes before the lady slips from our fingers.” He said and i could sense fear in his voice. That was all I needed to excuse myself and jump into my car. I told my driver to take me immediately to the company and he speedily drove and here we are now and i am seeing Paul talking to a lady. He was facing her and backing me. I hurriedly got close to them and holy smokes! This lady’s eyes are something else. If couples were matched cos of their eyes looks, this lady would be matched with undertaker. I swear her eyes can destabilize a brave man. I walk into their view and Paul sees me and greets me which I respond to. He is already sweating.
“Ma’am……”
“I told you Whitney!” the lady shouts and I shift back. Nice voice.. phew!
“I’m sorry Whitney meet the Snr CEO of this company.. the previous one is his son” he introduces and moves aside for to take over.

WHITNEY’S POV
I swear on my late father’s grave, if I don’t get this idiot begging for his life, then I am not what falls from heaven. This is the first time I’m being insulted by my physique

. No! Not the first time. Abel was the first person who did that and he couldn’t eat for a month. He survived by drip feeding. Only God knows how my anger accelerates when I am being insulted expecially by someone as saucy as him. He is lucky I gave him just a slap or should I go back and beat him into a pulp? But he can't just go away like that. He ain’t just gonna get away with just a small slap. Imma go there and add some fists to it. I stop on my tracks thinking whether or not to go there and maul him or go home to my family. This is the first time I’m letting someone off the hook with just a cut and I am regretting it so well. This Paul is really asking for a death wish. He’s been bugging my thoughts with his pleas and incessant talks. He thinks I am stopping to listen to him. He doesn’t know I am planning whether or not to beat him before leaving.
“Please Whitney, please. You are our only hope. Our Jnr CEO is quite childish and Rude but please have mercy and wait for his father the Snr CEO. Please ma’am. I beg of you.” I still don’t bulge. I look at him Intently while he looks away. Why can’t anyone look into my eyes? Am I that bad??? I try moving ahead but he’s blocking my path. A death wish he’ll get.
“Paul, for the love of God, get out of my way.” I say in gritted teeth looking at him with my eyes.
“Ma’am please… forgive him.” What! Forgive him! This Paul is mad! I’ll teach that asshole a lesson. A deep one at that. I want to talk back at Paul or maybe sign a warning to him but an advanced man came into view.
“Welcome sir.” Paul greets him and he answers unlike his stupid son and I turn to face the man. No grey hair but in his late fifties and quite handsome for his age. Paul turns to face me and he did what I thought of him.
“Ma’am……” Exactly what I thought
“Whitney!” I yell at him. Like employers like employees, bloody illiterates.
“I’m sorry. Whitney meet the Snr CEO of this company. The previous one is his son.” Paul says and stood aside.
“Clinton Wrights.” The old man says as he stretches his hand. This one is quite mannered despite old, he’s still respectful. I think we might get alone and while working with him, I will so torment his son. Draw your friend close and even your enemies more closely.
“Whitney Walters.” I take his hand for an handshake and he smiles.
“I heard what my son did and I’m deeply sorry.”
“Is that your real or adopted son? Cos a lion can’t birth a dog. Have you gone for a DNA test?” I ask him feigning anger and I am just as still as water.
“I deserve that comment, after all I spoilt him to an extent. So I’m very sorry. Please I will be the one interacting with you now and not my son. I just want your approval before going into the contract proposal.” He says calmly.
“Alright I forgive you. So let’s begin.” I tell him
“Let me show you the wire house first.” He says already on the move
“I have been there since 8. Clinton. I have checked what needs to be checked so let’s this thing over with cos I have places to be later in the day and it’s getting late.” I tell him.
“I’m really sorry about that. I really am. So let’s go to a restaurant and talk the contract through” he offers and smiles.. I think he doesn’t know I don’t smile.
“I approve that. I also want your son to come along with us. I want him to be aware we’ll be working together so he doesn’t cross my path.” I say to him
“oh that’s fine. Paul go call Anderson to come down right away. Let him know it’s urgent.” He turns to Paul.
“Okay sir.” Paul hurries. I haven’t eaten since morning and I don’t really feel like eating anymore. I craved pasta earlier but now I am craving just a bitter drink.
“so electrician as a woman, how does it make you feel?” he asks blurring my thoughts.
“different. At least now some people knows what a man can do, a woman can do better.” I say sarcastically making him know my point which he did. Wise man.
“Apart from an engineer, what do you aspire?” he asks
“Nothing. Interacting with wires is the best thing one could ask for. Am content.” I say glancing at my watch.
“that’s nice. An independent woman is what any man can for, keep up the profession. It really suits you.” Now is that a compliment or an insult?
“Oh here he comes.” He says and I turn to see who is coming. And there he is as stiff as a dead man. He blinks rapidly. Is he flaunting his long lashes or he is surprised to see me?
“Anderson get into the car.” His father says. He walks slowly avoiding my eyes and body contact. He walks zig-zag and enters into the backseat of the car with his father. I enter into the passengers seat and the driver drives off after receiving instructions from Clinton.
