Stellan.

Once, a long time ago, when things were dark and I didn't know how to go on, when I thought I was going to die from the pain my heart was going through.. I went back to her house.. That same place where she pulled out my heart a long time ago.

I wasn't seen, but I did see her, there was some sort of soiree going on and she was dressed in red, her hair flowing down her back with a man by her side.

I thought then that she was living a good life, being the star of the ball and forgetting about the lovesick farm boy she met years ago..

But right now, lying beside her sated and having her tell me she loved me with that voice after giving herself to me? I can't seem to remember all those pain that was evident until a while ago.

Maybe that makes me a fool, but for Sybil, I'd be anything.

"What are you thinking so hard about?"Her sleepy voice asks and I turn to look at her.

" Uh.. You aren't sleeping? "

" I'm too tired to sleep.. My face hurts too"She whispers and I frown, knowing the area where mama slapped her must be tight.

My poor princess.

"Are you going to answer me?" She asks again.

"What?"

"What were you thinking about?"

Although I want to ask, if she thought of me at least once all these years but I can't..

My eyes slides to the necklace nestled between her breast before coming up to her face.

"I was thinking how I want to quickly catch the fucker who's after you so that you don't have to be scared anymore"

"I'm not scared"She mutters, pulling the sheet around her

" You aren't? "

"Why will I? I've got you" she says and it's everything I want to hear.

"Sybil..."

"Want to know the meaning of my name?"

The switch in conversation is so fast i don't immediately follow.

"Why are you telling me this?" she looks into my eyes before sighing

"I made some unwise decisions some time ago Stellan and I haven't paid for them, I'm scared that when the time comes for me to pay the price might be too much" she says and I seat up, pulling her into my chest, our naked body touching.

"What decisions did you make Sybil?"

"Not for you to worry about"

"Sybil"

"Stellan"

"You are still so stubborn"

"Was there ever a time I wasn't?"

"Well, when you were beneath me and moaning you were ready to do all that I asked" she blushes, rolls her eyes before tucking her head beneath my chin.

"I've never felt so much at peace, not for a long time" She says and I still.

"You are my happy place Stellan" She whispers and I kiss her head..

She's saying all the things I want to hear, I tuck her in, hoping against all odd that this time it's real.

"Your mother has a mean left hook" Sybil says from her position at the mirror where she is tending to her black eye..

I grimace, my mum handled cattles almost all her life.. Of course she's strong.

I sit up from the bed, padding towards her and bending to kiss her neck.

"I'm sorry again"

"You can stop apologizing and make it up to me by making the fish stew you were very good at" She says, smiling at me, my eyes slides to her lips before going to her eyes.

"You want fish stew?"

"Uh uh.. "

"Want to go catch them by yourself?" I ask.

"Are you going to throw my catch back into the river telling me it too small?"

"Only if you manage to catch something big" I say.

"Challenge accepted" She whispers, her eyes on my lips.

She presses her mouth against mine as a knock comes from the door.

"Yes?"

"You have a call boss" Rick says and I lift away from Sybil.

"Come in" I say and he does.

"Carter says he's been trying to reach you but you've not been answering" He says, his eyes not going to Sybil and I know it's left over animosity from me sending Marie back to base..

I take the phone from his hand.

"Yo"

"What were you doing?" Carter's voice asks..

"oh yes mum.. I didn't know I had to answer directly to you" I say sarcastically, waving Rico out of the room.

Sybil goes back to the mirror but I know she's listening.

"I know I said you should go for it but are you being wise Stellan?"

"Carter.."

"You know I will kill that bitch with my bare hands if she hurts you.. Your mum called me to rant yesterday.. She wants me to yell you to drop Sybil's case".

"Are you and my mum in a secret 'frustrate Stellan' group or shit?, I didn't know I was a child who needed coddling"

"Man.."

"Carter.."

"Shit man, she was really scared for you.. She was.. You should have heard her on the phone..."

"I'm sure I can take care of myself"

He sighs before growling..

"Stellan"

"Hello Carter, Sybil here" Sybil says, pulling the phone out of my hand.

"Well, I plan on pulling out his heart and eating it, why thank you very much" She says, the conversation one sided.

"I'm very aware I ran away all those years ago Carter, I was there too...." She suddenly pauses, her body going still and her fist clenching.

I pull the phone from her to see it disconnected.

"What did he say?" I say,..
