Love-Life of Asante - Episode 29

After some seconds of not saying a word, she finally sighed and said, "So what did he say?"

"In fact what did he even say he wanted" She added sounding like she wasn't close to being interested anymore.

"Don't worry dear. This isn't what we should be discussing on phone jare. I will come to see you soon" Adesuwa said. They soon exchange pleasantries and hung up.

From that time of the call to when Adesuwa came visiting her, only one thought occupied Asante’s mind - Abraham.

She knew she took a rash decision by not giving him another chance to be that loving man he potentially seems to have been. And she had lived with that regret ever since that day.

Then at class when the lecturers kept on using Abraham's name for most examples while they were teaching, she couldn't seem to stop hearing the name.

Every time it was mentioned, she simply dissociated her mind from the whole teaching itself. But sooner than later she knew she had only robbed herself from the knowledge she would have gained then.

She never knew what Abraham had done to Gillian or even the baby afterwards, she never even wanted to know. She thought she definitely done with him.

But after the heartbreak from Gideon recently, she then realized that it was probably only Abraham that was the guy that really loved her and would have stayed with her.

"But was it too late already? Could Abraham still loved her over five years of breakup and two years of not seeing each other?" These and more were the questions that kept running through Asante’s heart.

However the coming of Adesuwa soon broke all these doubts of her to pieces

"Hey dear" Adesuwa said to her as they hugged each other.

. The last time we saw, you weren’t this fat you know. That's really good to know. Am happy that you are letting go of that fellow. He is not worth it jare." Adesuwa added as she sat down.

"What to do babe na?" Asante responded acting like she had recovered from it all.

"You talked about Abraham the other time. Please talk to me na. You seemed to have been hiding something from me then?" Asante added feeling already too curious about what they discussed the last time.

Just then Adesuwa gestured with her right hand pointing towards the door. And whooooom, here comes Abraham.

He hasn't really changed facially since the last time Asante saw him some two-three years ago. But he had definitely changed in terms of size. He seemed to have grown so lean than he was before. Even though he was never really fat at any time, but he was however not this lean.

"Hello Asante" Came his voice. The sound sent some chills down her spine. The last time he spoke to her in that tune was about six years ago before the break up. Even though they were still class mates after the break up, Asante never gave him a chance to talk.

. So she never really heard his voice directed towards her in particular for those years.

"Hi Abraham" She replied, putting both hands in the back pockets of her Jean.

"You are still as beautiful as always. Even time could not erase the radiant beauty of your face." He added as he was about to begin the explanation that Asante refused to hear six years ago.

"Thank you" Asante said this time around bowing her heads down.

Adesuwa recognized that her presence was already causing some friction in the discussion. Then she coughed and said "Lemme check what you have in kitchen babe" Then she left, leaving both of them in the sitting room.

Same explanation of how it was a mistake and not his intention for the pregnancy he gave.

"The baby is with my mum now. She is five already anyways. Her mum, Gillian later got married some two years ago. That's just to tell you that we were never together, otherwise I should have gone back to her when we separated." Abraham said bringing his explanation to an end.

"Please forgive me and let us have a fresh start. Please dear. It’s you that I have always wanted" He said adding an apology to give it a better ending.

After a few seconds of walking up and down. She starred into his eyes and said" How long I waited for you to come back Abraham. Welcome back"

Then they hugged each other with joy like they had really missed themselves. But ego seems to have delayed them.
