Merry Haven - Episode 16
They were all like thespians, acting in a theatre. It was a life of sorrow. Unkur announced the starting of the show.
But Annas wanted to die knowing that he killed his own father. He was with a dagger all along - the dagger that Sydney used in killing Kashees's mum. It was hidden inside his shirt.
"Sydney let the show begin." Unkur declared. Annas must do it, it would make him die in peace. Annas fetched the dagger out, clutching the hilt with force.
He dashed to his father, slicing his neck open with the dagger. Annas welcomed the warm blood on his body, letting it rain on him.
Annas was fulfilled, he had killed a man that doesn't want him. Now he could die in peace.
His mother wailed, miss Margaret screamed. Kashees didn't care, he was as still as a dove.
Benjamin knelt near his lifeless brother, watching him, Annas didn't care about Benjamin's feelings. Ernest wasn't meant to live. Sydney went still, he watched with his evil eyes.
"Unkur why did you tell him?" Benjamin asked, eyes fixed on his brother.
"He has to know. Am really enjoying this show!" Unkur said. The women were still wailing, sobbing their hearts out.
A figure appeared in, through the door

. Reginald.
"Unkur I will never give up! you will not see any blood flowing again, the Jacobs must be free!" Reginald screamed. Panting.
"See how the demons are watching, with my command they would strike you, you better leave now, or I will make them strike!" Unkur threatened. Turning to look at her.
Annas couldn't see any demon, they were alone, so he thought, but he was studying the facial movement of both Sydney and Unkur, they were watching invincible figures.
"I am not scared of you. I must do what I must to end this!" Reginald shouted.
"I rather kill you myself than to send the demons. Mildeh has fled from you, you can go back now and live a normal life."
"I will fight to my death!" She purred.
Unkur conjured a bright ball of light in his hands, it was growing brighter each seconds. Annas knew that the light was meant for Reginald, he doesn't want Unkur to end her like a chicken. The light was blinding his eyes, he knew what to do to save Reginald.
Annas pictured Reginald's position in his mind's eye, with the picture as his guide, he closed his physical eyes, dashing to where his mind's eye perceived Reginald to be. No one did watch him, they might probably be shielding their eyes away from the blinding light, that was an added advantage to him, because they wouldn't stop him.
In what seemed like seconds, Annas was already near Reginald, he took the ball of light for her, she mustn't die for his family, he should die instead. Annas felt the heat of the bright light on his skin, sinking into his flesh, he felt the room spinning with force.
He was in a familiar city, more advanced by what he was seeing. He stared at a familiar spot, but it was different, Eatery's Delite used to be there, but the building was different now. It was a very long skyscraper. He wondered what was happening, where was he?
He craned his neck up, looking at the sky, they were filled with flying drones, buzzing around. The drones were with cartons - or packages, it seemed like a delivery drone.
The blaring sound of a strange car pulled him out of his awe state. The driver was horning. He ran out of the road when he discovered that he had shifted from the roadside. He panted. People glared at him with shock. Some moved past him, not caring to look at his rumpled and bloodstained shirt.
The driver shouted at him when he drove past. The car wasn't really like the cars Annas had seen before, it wasn't moving on the tarred road, it hovered.
He saw many of the flying car-like machines, flying past the road.
It shouldn't be what he was thinking. He asked a short man for directions, the man only glared at him, moving away.
No one might answer, it was odd speaking with one that had blood all over his dress.
He spotted a boy that looked like Tettes in front of a building, he moved quicker to him. The boy entered an alleyway, he knew he was being followed.
Annas ran into the alleyway, running after the boy. The boy joined three men.
Annas slowed his pace, studying them.
"You can come, we know who you are." one of them called out.
Annas strode straight to them, watching the boy, it was Tettes, he looked like him.
The bald man with long beard and big eyes looked familiar, he now recognized him; he was the man in the portrait, Reginald always adored the man. His portrait was on Reginald's wall, in her living room. He was her lost uncle.
The other man had a fat face, with chubby cheeks, his eyes were like Annas', he had a long grey goatee beard. He was dressed in a white caftan, with a white kufi cap.
The third man, probably in his late fifties, was very tall. He was in an old black coat. He had a tobacco pipe in his hands.
"Tettes how did you come here, what's happening?" Annas asked.
"Long story." Tettes muttered.
"I know Unkur brought you here, that was what he did to me. He made me part with my darling niece..." Said the man with big eyes, he had a thick voice.
"Are you Regina's uncle?"
"Yes I am, she prefer Reginald..." The man answered Annas.
"How do you know I was here?" Annas asked.
"I felt it when you came to this time. That's why I sent Tettes to bring you here. I am a magician, time is my specialty. My name is Joko." Said the old man with goatee beard.
"Brother, why are you covered with blood." Tettes asked, looking tensed. Annas didn't answer him, he wouldn't.
"How did you see Reginald's uncle?" Annas asked, preventing his brother's question.
"The old man here came to me, he could know if you are from a different time. He is also from our time." Said the man with big eyes.
"What century are we in?" Annas asked.
"You are in the thirty fourth century, great grandson..." The man with pipe answered.
"My paternal grandparents are all dead, and you are not my maternal grandfather. Who are you?" Annas asked.
"Long story, we will explain when we are out of here. You need to wipe off those blood." Said the man with pipe.
Annas walked back trying to view the street once more, to confirm if he was truly in the far far future. They were at his back.
"Don't go out of here, let's get you to a safe place, let's clean you up, we have a whole lot of work to do..." Said Joko.
Annas saw the activities of the whole street through the alleyway. It was a different world. It was a different Merryhaven.
Regina, a.k.a Reginald had fought for him, even when he didn't deserve her. She couldn't stand his Unkur-like looks, yet she stood by him. People couldn't possibly love one that looked like Satan, yet she did. She loved him unconditionally, cherished him even when his looks reminded her of Unkur. Was it love? He loved her, but he didn't deserve her love. She wasn't meant for Satan, she was meant for some one better.
The lifeless body of Kashees mum was a sorry sight, there was nothing Reginald could do, he hoped the five magicians would hide her body from Unkur, she deserved peace. Sydney started the massacre with her. Maybe the five magicians had plans, he saw them carting her dead body away, Annas couldn't see it all because he was teleported.
He wish to end the misery, he would never see earth as his home again, that benefit had been snatched away from him. He needed a sanctum where he would not be judged by his disabilities, he needed a world where he would be loved by all; a world where his kin wouldn't pray for his downfall. He needed a merry haven.
