Midnight Voices
They peered at the young man on the floor with his arms around his knees which were touching his chin, his eyes closed tightly and his lips muttering inaudibly.
"I think he is epileptic", the first woman said.
"I don't think so, he isn't having a seizure." Another replied.
"Maybe it's a demonic attack." Someone else chipped in.
No one knew what was happening to the young man on the floor and no one knew what to do. They were afraid to touch him and they were afraid to just leave him there. Only two people witnessed what happened but there were over eight people there wondering what to do.
Finally the young man let his knees go and sat up, he had tears in his eyes. The people around him began to hurl questions at him. "What happened to you?" "Are you epileptic?" And many more. One man however came to his rescue.
"You people should stop this, he is obviously disoriented. Stop asking him questions. Give his space to catch his breath."
On hearing this, people started leaving one by one albeit reluctantly as they wanted to know the end of the story. However, since the guy has not said a word and it was getting late, they had to leave.

. The young man said to the man who spoke up for him when they were finally alone.
"You're welcome. I'll leave you now. I hope you can walk?"
Edward looked at himself and realised that he hasn't moved a muscle since he sat up so he stood up and dusted himself off.
"Yes I can walk. Thank you."
They both went their separate ways.

Ed walked into his apartment exhausted. He ran the bath and slowly got into the bath tub. While inside the tub he picked up his phone from where he dropped it on the low stool beside the tub and dialed a number. After several rings the person on the other side of the line picked up...
"Ed, this has better be good. You are not supposed to be calling on this line."
"They are back Jason. And this time, it's hell in a war zone. I need you."
