My Heart, My Love. Testament Of A Perfect Match - Episode 5
....plans for us to meet was in top gear after both of us made it to our respective location of residence; hers Gombe, mine Kogi states respectively. Christy grew so fond of me that she could not stay a day without hearing my voice. In fact, the love was now on cruise control and I was enjoying it thanks to efforts made by Leslie to win her over to me. Leslie was instrumental to my winning this game because he talks so good of me each time Christy called
Christy called one day that she would be paying me visit. I accepted but didn't hesitate to inform her of the economic realities of her visit. she told me I shouldn't worry about her transport fare that she could take care of it. This plan continued until we traveled for Easter break which now delayed the visit to another month or thereabout. This time, I was the one running from her; irony of life. my reason for giving excuses each time she talked about paying me a visit was because of the expenditure her visit will incur and mostly depleting my little savings which I had plans to make judicious use of the 19,800 Naira 'allawee'
Christy being the type that understands and not like Amaka accepted my flimsy excuses of not giving her the go ahead to visit me. we continued talking till after my service

. I told her I would be coming to Gombe to pay her a visit since she was the only one staying in her off campus lodge. I kept to my promise of visiting her. After the passing out, I traveled to Gombe. it was on a Friday and I spent two days with her and on the third day, I left for east.
The journey to Gombe was an experience I would never forget in a haste. From Obollo Afá»r to Kastina Ala then to Adamawa finally Gombe. The journey took almost 9 hours. It was my first time of going to the northern part of Nigeria. We got to Gombe around 8pm, I was faced with language barrier in that almost all they speak there is Hausa and I hardly understand the language. The first commuter bus I entered going to her direction nearly took me to a different location but for the presence of Igbo guy who heard my language when I was on the phone with Christy, he told the driver where to drop me and even gave me directions to her location. I enjoyed my visit to Gombe because of relative low cost of living.....
