PROLOGUE

"I am broken" Daitoro says while looking at Sterling with unclear eyes. Her tears flows unbidden. She could not believe that the romantic gesture of Sterling had turned awry. 

Yes, she had received confirmations of Sterling as her husband. Had even involved Imani, her bestfriend to be on their team. Yet, she felt uncertain. She wondered if the lack of trust, among others, will ever go away. 

Sterling, still on his knees by the beach side, with a ring, swallowed. He had not thought in a million years that, his first proposal to a woman could go this way. He had strategized, and done everything with perfection, with the help of Imani, and his friends. 

As though being led to speak, he did, looking her squarely in the eyes "I am broken too. Nevertheless, I am convinced we can mend each other. With God's help, and our commitment to each other, marry me please".
