MIKE BECOMES AN APPRENTICE
Mike woke up so early, had a bath and took a cab to the address his uncle gave him, it wasn't so hard locating the place because it was closer to the bus stop that the angry looking conductor had shouted at him on his arrival the city.
He walked down the street, and on his left was a big avacado tree, "this is the big ube tree my uncle talked about" he said. Just then, he caught sight of a fat looking woman with her height like that of a maltina bottle on a round big face that looked too serious" this must be Madam caro, the food seller" he said and walked up to her. "Aunty, good morning" he greeted with a soft voice, like that of a descending angel. "Watin u wan chop" was her reply to Mike's greeting. "am looking for Mr Okeke's workshop" he replied." Before she could say a word, Mike looked the opposite direction and saw a big sign post. Although he didn't understand what was written on the sign post tho, but with the activities going on there, he knew that was his uncle's workshop. He thanked madam caro, without waiting for her reply, he was already at the other side of the road.
He greeted the workers and other apprentices, who welcomed him to the workshop. He was guarded on what to do especially if there are lots of customers to attend to. At exactly 12pm in the afternoon.Mr Okeke came to the workshop to see how things were going on there, he recommended Mike for learning faster than expected
