Salvation (An Arranged Marriage ll) - Episode 4

I step out of the bathroom to see Juliet sprawled on my bed.

"Don't you have a child to take to school? It is Monday you know that right?" I ask, securing the belt of my robe

"I have a husband who can do all that you know that right?" She asks.

"Touché" I say, divesting of the robe and grabbing some dull green panties and bra set.

"Are those a Victoria's Secret set?" She asks.

"Don't judge me, they were on sale" I say.

"And you didn't get me any? I thought we were friends?" She says and I roll my eyes before putting on the underthings.

She's trying to initiate mundane talk to take my mind off what is about to go down in the next couple of weeks.

I almost tell her not to bother because I know it will be impossible to forget.

My moisturizer comes next, I spritz myself with my new scent before wearing a long flowy summer dress.

I grab my phone just as the door bell rings.

"Oh my God" She squeals and I turn to her, my hand on the doorknob.

"Remember you can't try to climb him like a strip pole okay?"

"Okay" She says and I know she's lying, I bound down the stairs and walk to the front door.

I open it to see Yoel standing there with a donut box.

"Well, hello pretty lady" He says and I marvel at his lovable personality for the millionth time.

"Hello" I say, stepping out of the way for him to step through.

"Your house is lovely" He says but his eyes are on Juliet who looks about to burst in excitement.

"Thank you, and this is my friend, Juliet, your ultimate fan" I say and Juliet waves a little.

"Let me just say I've watched all your movies" She says and I roll my eyes.

"You have? I'm beyond grateful, thank you so much" He says, extending a hand to her and she takes it like it's priced gold.

He turns to me after their meet and greet.

"I got donuts" He says, waving the carton, Juliet grabs it from him and he follows her to the kitchen, I follow behind.

When we settle, eating and sipping coffee, my door bell rings.

I tense.

"It might not be...." Juliet says immediately and I nod, it might not be, it could be a Pap or a delivery man.

"Let me get it, just in case" Yoel says and I nod, I watch him go, taking a bite of donut but finding it difficult to swallow.

The front door opens and after a while closes and I tense when I hear footsteps on the tile.

Yoel turns the corner and it's just him, I breath a sigh of relief while being weirdly disappointed.

"I found this on your stoop, it must be mail" He says before passing me the letter.

I open it with dread but freeze when I see the words.

"Your gown looked lovely yesterday, I'm glad you decided to wear the purple panties" I blink, lifting my eyes to Juliet.

There's a picture of me in my underwear inside that place and it's the same set of undies I wore yesterday.

"What the hell?" She whispers and I nod, my body shaking. 

"May I see what it is?" Yoel asks and I nod at Juliet when she glances at me. 

He swears looking at the photos. 

"Has this happened before?" He asked. 

"She's been getting prank calls a lot and weird gifts from an unknown person, I think they are the same people" 

Julliet says.

"From what I can see it seems the person has a camera in your room" Yoel says, standing up and looking around. 

I begin to shake in earnest, someone has been invading my privacy, they have eyes in my room, what have they seen? What have they done with what they've seen? 

"Get a bag, you can't stay here,it's not safe" Yoel says and I turn to see him holding a little thing that looks like a bug. 

"What is that?" 

"It's a sound recorder, someone bugged your place" He says. 

"Who could it be?" I whisper, my head not wrapping around it. 

"Could it be your ex Hu...." Yoel starts. 

"It can never be Kane, Caspian will do nothing like this and he's not my ex husband" I say. 

"Good, that will stop me from finding him and beating his ass to hell, go pack a bag" He says again. 

"I've got a bag prepared already" Jules says stepping into the kitchen, I didn't notice her exit it. 

"Good, we are going" He says, grabbing my hands. 

"I will lock up the house, you have to report it this time, you've got nothing to loose anyway." 

"But... But I can't just leave my house" I say weakly but they aren't listening to me. 

"I can..

. I can go to the dance studio, I can sleep there" 

"If he was able to infiltrate your house he would have been able to infiltrate your work place" Juliet says wisely and Yoel nods. 

"Why would he do something like this?" 

"Who knows?" Jules asks as Yoel holds my hand and begins to lead me out the door. 

He swings open the door and standing on the stoop is Kane dressed in a gray suit,behind him is Maurice dressed in a black suit. 

Through all the pandemonium I didn't hear the paparazzi but they are there, hurling questions at Kane and me. 

"Kane" I whisper, my already fragile hold on reality slipping. 

He takes in the finger Yoel has wrapped around my hand and the bag he's holding from one finger before looking to me. 

"It's been a while Ani" He says and I almost break down at the ice in his voice. 

"Caspian.." 

I don't finish the words before he's there, melding our lips together, Yoel's hand slips out of mine and I don't waste a minute before digging my hands into his hair. 

My body hums. 

Oh God, how I've missed him. 

His hands cradle my ass as he pulls me closer, tilting my head and kissing me deeper. 

I kiss him back because it's all I know how to do at the moment. 

I need him like I need my next breath.
