It was a hot Saturday when Vuyanzi was alone at home preparing the small garden behind the house ready for planting. Her shosho had left some vegetable seeds and asked Vuyanzi to plant. Lately her shosho had rarely been leaving the house. The old woman would grow frantic whenever Vuyanzi was late from school. Her easy going grandmother had turned into a mother hen following and fussing over Vuyanzi every little turn she could get.

Recently, her grandmother had been preparing a very sour brew and forcing Vuyanzi to drink a cup before going to bed. Her shosho claimed that it was herbal medicine that was important for a, she was a growing girl who needed the brew to strengthen her. Vuyanzi hated it, it was bitter and it made her teeth tingle, worse of all, and the brew made her head ache at times. On the first night she drank it, she nearly vomited out her lungs. She was only taking it because shosho was insisting.

All of a sudden the hairs behind her back stood. Vuyanzi could feel someone or something watching her. She had the same feeling she had a week ago when she saw movement on her bedroom window.

It was back

Vuyanzi, her name was softly whispered in the wind. Look at me, the voice was uniquely rough but soft at the same time
