The Missionary's Journey - Episode 8
They dressed well on a Sunday morning and went to church. The church members that left after the incident with the previous pastor began returning back to the church slowly. There were new souls won due to Mr Oyinmadu's effect and he moved the heart of people with his words, sermon and prayers. Illnesses were healed, bondages were broken, barren women gave birth, the deaf was able to hear, the mute could talk and the blind could see. The church slowly but surely expanded. Mr Oyinmadu noticed most of the inhabitants of the village had problems that they couldn’t explain, mysterious sicknesses and deformities that appeared without any symptom and explanation. He knew deep within his heart that there was more to it than what they saw on the surface.
One morning in church, Mr Oyinmadu was praying against principalities and powers threatening the home of his congregation. He asked everyone to come forward and gradually laid his hand on their heads, anointing their heads with oil from the bottle of oil he gripped in his palm. All eyes closed as members of the congregation went deep in prayers. He looked around and spotted a woman glaring wickedly at him. She sat at the back of the church, not participating in the ongoing prayer. He walked towards her silently, cocked his head and felt an ominous air around her.
"Who are you, what are you doing here?" He asked.
"Wawu so you noticed me, you can see me, as in truly see me?" the woman replied.
"This place is not for your kind, woman."
"Hmm, I see what you are doing here and I have to say that I am impressed, you are not like the previous pastor

. I sense something in you but I don’t know what it is. Is it perhaps the god the other pastor was shouting about?"
"Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world," the pastor reported back.
"Shut up, if you know what is good for you, you would stop all this.

. Park your load and go. You are not wanted here. This is our village and territory," she shouted at him.
"Souls belong only to God and to no other being or deity. He watches over all who come to him, take away their burden and protects them under his wing."
The woman abruptly stood up, "Now, listen here pastor or whatever you people call yourselves, you have been warned. This is us doing it the easy way with you. Beware, for you don’t know what you are dealing with."
Forming the sharp of the cross in the air, Mr Onyinmadu shouted ‘Begone’.
The woman snorted, clapped her hands twice and walked towards the exit. He noticed movements from the side of his eyes and turned back. People that posed as members of the congregation turned and headed towards the exit, as they passed him, they gave an evil stare and hissed. At the exit, the woman turned to face him one last time, smiling wickedly at him.
"Don’t ever come back or you will be sorry." He shouted at her, turned and walked back to the altar to continue his prayer. He saw some of his members opening their eyes, looking back questioningly to see who he was talking to but he knew they wouldn’t see anyone. He shook his head now understanding what was going on in the village.
