Harry handed the chocolate flavoured ice-cream over to her as it has always been her favorite. . She too was older and beautiful as well on her pink dress. "Cup cake, what kept you so long?" she asked jovially as she collected the ice-cream from him. "the Bar man kept delaying me by asking useless and pointless questions. But don't worry my sugar cane. I am now here with you." he said as he sat down on the mat with her. Before them was a basket filled with fruits and soft drinks for their picnic.

"your sugarcane? Who?"

she asked with a Fake-frowned face.

"you of course."

he replied.

"I don't like that name"

"well, a sugar-cane goes for a cup-cake"

he said with out looking at her. He was just concentrated on consuming the ice-cream on his hand.

"no way! Cup-cake is very much valuable than Sugar cane" she protested hitting his shoulder.

"ooouch! "

he cried and then thought for a moment before saying to her again.

"okay. May be i should then call you my Christmas chicken"

"what!!!!"

she exclaimed dragging his tie roughly but in a playful way.

"ooouch! Ooouch!! May be calling you a Christmas Goat will do"

he said amidst of her dragging. with that , she spanked up and threw her self on him and the both crashed on the ground.

"you know what, you are not romantic" she said as she got off him after a moment.

"Romantic? Am a kenyan so i should be Kenyan-tic other than being Roman-tic "

he said as he sat up again

. the two are always like that. They love funny argument so much so that they hadly spend a minute with out cracking a Joke on themselves.

May be that is the sugar it their relationship that keeps them from quarrelling. Harry peeled up a banana and fed her with it while she put a sliced apple into his mouth. Some moments after eating, she asked.

"Now, you've gotten a Job. what's your next plan?"

"nothing much other than to work hard and earn more, and then, i will make you the only cocroach in my cup board"

he replied.

"the only cocroach in your cup board? Harry could you be serious for once?" she reckoned looking confused.

"of course am serious. I love you so much mira. I won't let another man take you away from me because you are the light in my life. After i have saved enough, i will settle down with you."

She smiled broadly at his reassuring speech. She Loved him so much and wishes to spend the rest of her life with him. She couldn't bear to stand the agony if he fortunately ends up with another person apart from her. they are both through with university. Harry graduated a year before her and had managed to secure a self sustaining job. Mirabell on her own part, had adopted a position in her father's company immediately after her service.

Gavin said to his wife who was watching television in the sitting room. "that's great. But how sure are you that it is going to work out fine?"

Flora asked with out looking at her husband.

"why do you keep asking disappointing questions when we are at the point of achieving our aim?"

Gavin asked.

"mtcheeeew, that's how you have imagined it when we lost our son".

Flora said sadly.

"what did you mean by that? She Will accept it immediately that's why i kept it as a secret which will yield a pleasant surprise.''

"far from that, i have been observing the move of our daughter for the past few months. It wouldn't be a surprise it things finally turns out as other wise."

"what kind of move is she making and what did you observe from it?"

Gavin asked but as soon as his wife opened up to reply the question his phone interrupted. He pick the call with a durable happiness because it was the Mayor Who was calling.

"how are you the honorable Mayor"

he waits and continued.

"every one is fine"

he waits again and smiled broadly as he said again.

"my daughter is fine you need to see the beautiful woman she has grown into"

he waits again.

"have he send you the date he will be returning from California?"

he waits for a reply and continued again.

"okay so we should be expecting you people in the next week?"

he asked and the call ended. Just after he dropped the phone on the table, Mirabell walked in
