The wedding party - Episode 2
EPISODE 2
When I got outside the church building, beside the car that brought the bride was her. Instantly I felt an instant feeling of telepathic connection. I stood transfixed on where I stood, walking slowly towards her. She had a smooth triangular face that tapered towards a pointed chin. Her eyes were her best feature, brown colored iris that shone against the background of her white bright eyes. In between those dazzling beautiful eyes was the stem of a nose that ran a straight course downwards. She had carefully carved out lips, the type that made her look like a beautiful painting. Her rosy cheeks gave way to beautiful dimples that made her the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
I just met her but it seems she had stayed in my memory for a long time. I could remember this same face appears in my dreams and smile. At times, she would appear on my administrative text book. I would shake the memory of her off over and over again, but it refused to leave. She was the one I have been waiting for! She was the will of God I have long been searching for.

. So after attending 26 different wedding ceremonies, God finally brought her my way on the 27th.
“There is no time to waste any longer!” I am getting married.
Weeks after, we were both in front of the altar

. It was our wedding day. Everywhere was filled to the brim. I could see Bro. George, Bro Ghandi, Bro Uche, Bro Peter among the groom’s men, including Bro Leke who travelled down to witness my wedding ceremony. I was so happy I would be leaving them behind in the bachelor train.
May the ring bearer come forward, the officiating pastor, Pastor Oladotun Micheal said.
Then Heritage stepped forward in his Italian suit beaming with smile with the ring box in his hands.
You may now put the ring in the finger of the bride. Pastor Oladotun declared
I took the ring from the box and held my bride’s hand to fix the ring into her finger but the ring wouldn’t go in.
I tried it again but all to no avail.
Haha! Mr Man answer us now abi kini gbogbo rubbish yi ke! Pastor Micheal said frustratingly
Even the Cameraman in front of me, Bro Samson, was looking me with a scary face.
The crowd had started to murmur when they noticed what was happening.
Since the ring was under-sized, I decided to fix the ring on the index finger when I received two dirty slaps.
Ah! Ah! I turned only to see Sister Dee
Bro. Gbenga! What are you still doing here?
Then I looked at myself trying to put the crown cap of a coke into the tiny holes in between the desk in front of me.
Where are we? I asked
Where are we ke? The church program just finished. We are going to the reception joor. Are you not going? Sister Dayo said and walked away leaving me in a state of confusion.
I looked around only to realize we were still in Modakeke, Sister Blessing’s wedding! So I am still not married. I asked myself!
Chai! (my hands on my head)
