What Went Wrong - Episode 2

I was carried away by the story that I forgot to tell u my name. Am David by name, from a well respected family. Though, am a Christian by religion but not by my way of life. I always thought going to church alone will make me a Christian. I never knew Christianity is a way of life. Don’t get me wrong,  am not a bad guy because I keep all the ten commandments but  I have not confessed Jesus as my Lord and personal saviour  but it’s never too  late for you because am now a born again Christian. 

I know you are really interested in the mess I got myself into. 

However, after a year and six months, we became married and trust me when I say our wedding was one of a kind, it was the hottest gist in town. The Mc on stage that day was the same comedian that got his movie into  Guinness book of record last year. Not to talk of our wedding cakes, Juliet’s wedding gown and so on. Most of the people in attendance knew the bride and the groom are definitely going to live happily ever after. I was given three weeks break for my honeymoon which took place at United Arab Emirates. We lounged at a 7star hotel. You can imagine how the honeymoon will be like. 

After 3weeks,  we came back to Nigeria to start our marriage life in full. How I wish I knew that wedding is completely different from Marriage. 

Juliet had many apprentice and staffs but among all, there is this particular lady that Juliet loved and  trusted so much,named Dorcas, not because of anything but because she attends our church and she came from a God fearing family. 

Dorcas was a  final year Biochemistry student when I became conscious of her

. I do see her face often because she was like my wife’s personal assistant. I liked her honesty, diligence and hard working spirit. 

As a food microbiologist, I do have all my weekends to myself after  stressful weekdays at work. Most times, am always at home on Saturdays watching football, especially when Manchester United is playing. I do most of the cooking and laundry myself because my wife is always busy at work. It was never a big deal for me because love conquers all. 

After six months of marriage, I started feeling uncomfortable and couldn’t endure it any longer. How will i be spending few hours of my days with my newly wedded wife. I thought it’s only white collar job ladies that are always busy with their career,I didn’t know a fashion designer could be this busy with her work to the extent of working overnight. Atimes, I will have to sleep alone on our 4 by 3ft bed. It was hell for me.I decided it’s time I talk to her, the talk I wish we could have had before getting married. 

After church service the next day, I drove straight to a restaurant because there is no food at home of course and we really need to talk. She ordered for fried rice and chicken while I ordered for Semovita with vegetable soup, not because that’s my favourite food but because I might not be eating anything again for the rest of the day. 

Juliet, am not too happy with the way our marriage  is going. 

What do u mean by that? Don’t you think it’s too early for this? Moreover, what is the problem? Juliet said. 

Your work is taking you away from me. Imagine, we haven’t have  sex more than twice  since we came back from our honeymoon, is that fair? 

Well, as you can see, it’s not my fault. I thought you love me and I expected you to understand and moreover is sex food? Juliet asked. 

Are you asking me? For Christ sake, we are married and we abstained from this before we got married, then why can’t you give it to me now that we are married?

Ha! David, is once a month too small for you? As you can see, am a busy woman and you knew all of this before you proposed, abi, am I the one that propose? 

Juliet, it’s that what you will say? 

OK, fine. 

Finish your food and let’s go home. 

We entered the car and drove down home without saying a word to each other.

The day after that day was a Monday and it happens to be a public holiday. 

7am in the morning, my wife was ready for work. I was still on bed thinking of how to spend my day alone. 

Honey, am set; see you at night but don’t worry I have a suprise for you today. 

Sup……….. rise? 

Before I finish pronouncing THE RISE  from the SUP, all I heard was the sound of the door
