Believe - Episode 24
We are all here
On Monday morning, SS 1 Commercial.
“She never told me what the counselor said after,” Promise said. She had just told Bukky how she got the scar on her face. “So trust me when I say she can’t listen to you as long as Anu is in the picture.”
“Except if we make Anu confess her intentions,” Bukky said.
“Confess her intentions?” Promise was confused. “What intentions?”
“You don’t know?” Bukky whispered. “Of course, you don’t.”
“Know what?”
Bukky whispered into Promise ears.
“So that’s the name of her illness.” She nodded her head slowly. “I always knew it but didn’t know it was called altruistic. I mean she’s always ready to please Anu no matter what.”
“And we have to stop that if we want Ayo to win this competition.”
“She will never win as long as Anu is also there. I just can’t believe Anu would stoop so low to use that against Ayo.”
“Anuuu.” Bukky sighed. “Promise, what do you think we should do?”
“You apologize to her first.”
“Apologize to Ayo?”
“Yes, a part of her still wants to please you as she still considers you a friend.”
“I told her we can’t be friends until I proof that Anu and Funmi isn’t what she thinks they are.”
“Even better,” Promise clapped her hands. “Once you apologize

. She would believe you have forgotten about your ridiculous theory and…”
“It’s not a ridiculous theory,” Bukky snapped.
“Of course, I know it’s not but she will think that.”
“Okay, continue.”
“Then she will accept you back as her friend and that is where I come in.”
Bukky furrowed her eye brow. “To do what?”
“After the scar, she feels she owes me and I’m sure she still feels that way. So, maybe it’s time to collect on the debt.”
“I’m still not following.”
“Just apologize to her first,” Promise sounded impatient. “Then I’ll tell you the full details.”
“I don’t think I’m ready to apologize to her.”
“You have to. If you really want her to win this competition.”
“Its better she loose then if she isn’t going to believe me over those two.” She hissed and walked out of the classroom.
“You are just being stubborn,” Promise said after her.
‘I’m never going to apologize to her,' Bukky thought as she marched to SS 1 Science classroom in search of Ore. She met him in the class this time around but decided to call him out instead. Ore and Funmi just stared at each other as Ore left the class to discuss with Bukky.
“You lied Ayo,” Funmi said and left the class also.
Ayo also followed Funmi.
Funmi went in search of Ore and Bukky. After about 5 minutes of searching, she found them in the school's sport centre which was very quiet that morning as many students had not arrived school yet.
“I already know about all that.” Funmi heard Oreoluwa say. “And Ayo knows also. In fact, Funmi was the one who told her and she apologized already.”
Funmi decides to wait so she could hear more. They couldn’t see her because their backs were turned to her and she couldn’t see them also because they were seated on a bench, high enough to cover their heads.
“Are you sure?” Bukky asked Ore. They were both ignorant of Funmi’s presence in the sports centre.
“I was there. Funmi actually pleaded with Ayo not to quarrel with you and I can see she didn’t listen.”
“Funmi said that?”
“Yes, I did.” Funmi came out from her hiding place. She came in front of the two and said to Bukky, “I apologize for coming in between you and Ayo.”
Bukky was speechless.

. This was someone she had criticized, apologizing to her. ‘If Ayo didn’t listen to Funmi’s plea, it means she isn’t going to lose to her intentionally. That leaves one person. Anu.’
“Funmi,” Ayo broke the silence.
Funmi was facing the direction Ayo was coming from but Ore and Bukky’s back were turned to that direction. They didn’t bother to turn as they already knew it was Ayo’s voice they heard.
“I didn’t lie to you,” Ayo continued, ignorant of Ore and Bukky who were still seated on the bench. “I actually apologized to her but she said she can’t be my friend unless…”
“Unless what?” Funmi looked at Bukky.
“Unless I proof that you are going to betray her later,” Bukky said innocently. She stood up so Ayo could see her.
Ayo ran to the front as she heard Bukky’s voice. There she saw Oreoluwa also getting up from his seat.
“We have to settle this here and now,” Oreoluwa suggested.
“Yes we have to,” Funmi added.
Another girl walked into the sports centre and said, “Wow! Seems we are all here.” She sighed.
This one is very short. Drop your comments as you await the next chapter?
I think since all parties I present they need to settle their differences. What do you think?
