Jake:

"Lie down I'll just check who is at the door and come back okay?" i ask

Sarah and she nod. I peck her temple then hurry downstairs to answer

the door. It's already late and i can't seem to guess who might be

here. I peek through the hole on the door and see a woman's

silhouette. Its too dark to make out who she is. The door bell ring

again and i push the door open to come face to face with the middle

aged woman from my mother's engagement party who accused me of trying

to kidnap her grandchild. What is she doing here?

"Oh. Thank God i met you. You need to help me. Daisy fell down the

stairs and lost consciousness. She is currently in the hospital" she

say frantically and i look at her with a confused expression on my

face.

"What? Who is daisy and why are you asking me for help if this daisy

was in an accident? Am not a doctor. I dont even know who you are" I

tell her.

"The doctor said she is in need of blood for the operation because of

her internal bleeding."

"So? I still dont get you"

"I wouldn't have come here if there was any other way to save her but

my blood isn't a match and Hannah isn't in town. You are the only one

who can donate blood for her"

"wait? Did you just say Hannah?"

. Daisy is your daughter with Hannah. No time for

explanation we have to go to the hospital immediately!" she grab my

hand and start pulling me towards the road. I am so confuse right now.

Hannah had my child? Oh my God, is she the baby Sarah and i met at the

party? This isn't a trick right? How does she know Hannah if this is a

trick? I better go with her and find out.

"Wait. Let me get my keys." I tell her. I rush into the house and go

upstairs to retrieve my bike keys. I peek into sarah's room and see

that she is asleep. I rush back down to meet the woman.

"Hop on" I tell her and she shake her head.

"Am too old to get on that thing. Just go. I'll catch a cab and meet

you there. Its good fate hospital" she say before i zoom off into the

night. How did this night turn from having Sarah in my arms to this?

Am a father? Wow. I get to the hospital in record time and rush to the

reception desk.

"I am looking for the little girl who was rushed in a while ago. She

fell down the stairs and needs surgery" I tell one of the nurse at the

desk

"Jake? Oh my God its Jake! Bea look Jake in the flesh" she squeal and

everybody's attention move to me.

"Am your biggest fan! I have your pictures plastered in all corners of

my room! Can i get your autograph?" She ask and i almost lose it. Is

this how a nurse behave?

"success will you quiet it down." A older nurse who just walk in

chastise the giddy nurse.

"Am sorry sir. She is a trainee. Who are you here for?" She ask me and i tell her

"only Family members are allowed into the ICU sir" she says. I open my

mouth to tell her i am the baby's father but i can't. The fan girl is

still looking at me with dancing eyes and i can feel other people's

eyes on me. If i say am her father, the news will be all over the news

and internet before the break of dawn.

"Sir, are you a family member?" the older nurse ask again and i shake

my head slowly. I better wait for her grandmother.

"He's her uncle. I am her mother. Please take us to her" i hear Hannah

say and my body stiffen. I turn back to see her rubbing her nose

furiously. She always does that when she is close to tears. I can't

believe i still remember that.

"Come on" the nurse says and walk us to the ICU department. I can feel

hannah's body heat behind me and i dig my nails into my palm to stop

myself from facing her. I dont want to make a scene.

"There she is. The doctor bandaged her head to stop the bleeding for

now but she still needs surgery for the internal bleeding. Her blood

type is rare so we couldn't get it from the hospital's blood bank this

night"the nurse say

"You can draw from me. Please save my baby" Hannah sob out and grab the

nurse's hand.

"We will do all we can ma'am. Are you blood grope O negative?"she ask

and i see Hannah shake her head

"Your daughter is O negative. Where is her father? He must be the one

with the O negative blood group" the nurse say solemnly and my heart

skip a beat. O negative. Everyone in my family are O negative

including my brother. Coincidence?

"h-er her father is no more" Hannah say and i scoff.

"You can draw from me. I am O negative" i say quietly and two pairs of

eyes shift to me.

"Where do i need to do it?" i ask

"Oh right this way sir" the nurse say as she lead me out of the room. I

throw Hannah a dirty look before glancing at the little girl who is

currently hooked to different machines. I'll save you sweet heart.

Two pints of blood are taken from me and daisy is taken into the

operation room. I feel dizzy from all these and i sit my self down on

a chair in front of the theatre. I only just knew about her but i am

worried as hell. I can't believe i have a daughter and i am just

finding out.

"You should have told me" i say quietly to Hannah who is pacing in

front of me. She stop then sit beside me.

"You were so angry about your brother and you didn't answer my calls.

I couldn't reach you"she says and i scoff

"My daughter must hate me. I can't believe i abandoned her just like

my father abandoned us. She needed me. Damn it Hannah!. This is worse

than the last time. I can't do this right now!" i yell and storm out

"Jake! There is more you should know" i hear her yell after me but i

dont stop. I need to clear my head.

I drive around the city for a long time before i find myself at the

Cemetery. I need to talk to my brother. I never visited his grave

because i never wanted to come here. I am as bad a brother as i am a

father. I find his grave easily and sit on the bare ground. Being here

tears me and i cry body racking tears . For my brother who i failed

and my daughter who is now fighting for her life because failed her

too by not being there for her.

"Am so sorry peter. I just hated that mom wanted you buried here

because this was where we were happy as a family before dad left us

for another woman"

I was just eight years old then but i remember my mom drinking

herself to sleep every night after he left.

. I swore to take good care

of her and my brother but i never did. My brother died because of me

and i never visited my mother since that day just because Hannah lives

here too. Am a failure. Am just like my father. While i was playing

love with Sarah, my daughter was dying.

Loud argument filter into my ears and i open my eyes to See that its

already day. I must have fallen asleep beside my brother's grave.

"He has to know! He thinks i am involved in my getting kidnapped

almost two years ago. I can't keep this inside anymore!" I hear a

female voice yell and i raise my head to peer at the two figures

arguing some metres away from me. They must not notice me because am

sitting on the floor. Their backs are to me but they look so familiar.

"You can't tell him, do you understand me?" The man ask the woman

but she keeps shaking her head.

"Your son died because of this you callous man! My brother followed

you blindly and he died because of your lust for money" the woman

screams again

"He was so stupid that's why he died!" the man yell at her

"He was your son you bastard!" the lady is getting hysterical

"i dont know where my mother met a man like you. You are the devil

himself! I am going to tell him then report you to the police" the

woman turn and start walking away when the man grab her. I rush out of

my hiding place toward them and that's when i see her face.

"Hannah?" I gasp and turn to the man.

"dad?!"
