Finding Solace - Episode 23

First, let me start by saying , this is a work of pure fiction, everything was a result of my own imagination and believe me, I’ve really  got it wild. *Winks.
Werewolves and Vampires all belong to the fantastic, folkloric and magical worlds. For those that are not familiar with the word, I got this for you-
 ‘A werewolf or occasionally lycanthrope is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf (or, especially in modern film, a therianthropic hybrid wolflike creature), either purposely or after being placed under a curse or affliction (often a bite or scratch from another werewolf).
‘A true "werewolf", according to most legends, is a human being that uncontrollably transforms into a wolf during a full moon.  The original werewolf curse transformed a Shapeshifter Wolf into a Werewolf, effectively taking away the ability to control the shift but also taking away the ability to think as a human while in wolf form. Werewolves, when in wolf form, have uncontrollable rage and hunger.  They are driven to kill everyone and everything they encounter, regardless of their relationship as humans. The curse causes these wolves to lose all control of their minds, and when they wake up in human form in the morning, they don't remember anything (though they may revisit certain memories in dreams). It is this form of werewolf that can transfer their condition through a bite, assuming of course that the human being bitten survives the attack.’(Adapted).
They have super strength, super speed, super strength, super agility, healing factor and so on

. They are ‘sha’ super in everything. But they only change fully into a complete wolf during the full moon . That is the only time they can be extremely deadly as during other days, they can control themselves as they are human and they can only shift. Shifting is when they are still in human form and they are still powerful, they can only look scary but fool moon, they become monsters.

Secondly, do they exist?
Well, I watch movies  and I read a lot, my favorite movies are The originals and  Teen wolf. I didn’t see Twilight, though I heard it is very interesting. I’ve got some books about wolves too, like Alaska, Lycan ...etc So about the question, they existed a long time ago and since these movies and books are a work of fiction too, we can’t really say if they still exist. However, in Africa, my research proved that no one knows YET, if they exist or they don;t. I mean , seeing is believing right? So if you are walking around one day and you accidentally pop into one, please  take a picture and send to us…Im kidding o…Abeg …Run….hahah!But I learnt that they begun in Wiscosin, that should be in the Europe, so you can gently gulp down that bottle of coke, they are not close to Nigeria. LOL.

NICKY
Still the second day and no sign of her. The second day felt like ages. Maybe I should believe Yvonne after all. Just maybe, she found her family and decided not to come back. That , however wasn’t fair at all.
I emptied the bottle of Vodka in my hand and stretched my legs on the table.
Yvonne came out, all dressed up. She shook her head as she sighted me.
“You are so pathetic. You were not even like this when I injured myself during a movie set and now you are all miserable because of some girl.”
I said nothing, I knew it was pathetic and I was glad she wasn’t making a scene out of it but seriously, I felt like a major part of me abandoned me.
“Where are you going?” I asked.
“I need to go see someone, I should be back tomorrow.” She said. “Please, by the time I’ m back, be a dear and return to my old darling Nicky.” She sighed, shook her head and left.
I checked my phone for the one thousandth time, probably she memorized my number and decided to call me but up till now, nothing. I should give up already but I just couldn’t. I just felt something was so wrong and I could do nothing about it.
The doorbell rang.
Ynonne must have forgotten something. I didn’t bother to stand up. “Come in, it’s not locked.”
I was however surprised when I saw the two men again. I quickly adjusted and stood up. These time, they were all set, I could different weapons hanging out of the bag in their hands.
“Hello Nick.” The shorter one greeted.
“Hi Rasaq. Is there any problem?” I asked curiously, standing up. I didn’t want them to keep coming here.
“We need to ask you some questions so we can track down the animal that killed your parents.” Rasaq stated.
“But that was long ago, you actually didn’t have to.”
The taller one grimaced. “We are hunters, this is what we do. So you only need to answer our questions not tell us what to do.” The other growled.
I gulped and put hands in my pocket.
“Okay , I’m listening.”
“We saw signs that the animal can be around this region and you are in danger.”
Okay, maybe I didn’t hear that very well.
“What danger are you talking about?”
The two exchanged glances.
“You see…”Rasaq continued. We believe what killed your family was a wolf. Does the word ‘solace’ mean anything to you?”
I thought for a while.

. “of course, that is the name of my grandfather and grandmother, joined together. ‘Sola’ and ‘ace” I replied.
“Son, it is your bloodline. Your blood is a cure of some sort.”
“Cure..for a disease or what?”
They sighed again. “Do not worry” The taller one replied. “Please, have you had any strange visitor recently?”
I was feeling drowsy from having drunk so much. These people were asking me nonsense.
“I don’t receive visitors, but many people came on my birthday so ….”
Rasaq snapped his fingers at my face and It actually kept me alert for a while.
“Did you get connected to any?”
“No. I was too busy.” I replied.
“Look, you  need to snap out of whatever is wrong with you and tell us the truth!” The taller one shouted.
I hated that guy.
“Look, I am not saying anything again. Leave me alone or get out of my house.” I ordered.
Rasaq sighed, took my phone and typed his number. “If you notice anything strange, give us a call.”
In few seconds, they were gone I hissed, went to lock the door, and then fell on the couch.I was going to take a very long sleep and I didn’t want a disturbance.

Supposed to update later in the evening but, well, I just did. So do we understand the word ‘solace’ now.  In this story it is a cure for werewolves actually, the bloodline of Nicky’s family.  But remember his mother and sister died so he only remains? Also, we do not know who killed them..yet. Hehehe! Are we still confused?
