Finding Solace - Episode 4
Hi folks, seriously, the comments came in handy. Thank you so much. So, the majority has spoken. Architect wins! This episode is dedicated to Mrs Irene and her gorgeous husband who is also an Architect. Lol. So where did we stop….? Okay, she is moving in today. Let us see how it goes.
The driving couldn’t have lasted more than thirty minutes. I was quiet almost throughout our little trip. Apart from having nothing to say, he was on a call almost throughout the journey. Something about his work , I figured. When he finally brought the car to a halt, I knew we have finally arrived.
He came around to open the door for me as I was loosening the seat belt, then taking my hand like a true gentleman, he helped me out of the car. When I was finally out of the car, I caught my breath at the splendor of the house. The compound was very large with fashionable shades of white walls surrounding the landscape. The walls were so high that the most curious passer-by would not be able to see through. Flanked on each side of the wall were beautiful flowers and ornamentals and imprinted on the walls were beautiful artistic designs.
The main building was not as big but it was beautiful in its own little way. It looked like a cut out from Architects Today Magazine

. It was simple, clean and geometric. The door was made of glass and steel.
This man must really be worth a mint! I thought to myself.
When we finally got in, I realized the exterior of the house was nothing compared to the interior. The floors were polished concrete and the furniture was simple, yet fascinating. It was full of technology and modern design. It was also very spacious. A very large TV screen occupied one segment of the house alone. There was a big terrifying Lion Teddy at the center of the glassy table. The chandelier, cotton and seats all spelt expensive and I felt being in a tattered cloth in such a place is a dent to the beauty of the house. I was instantly uncomfortable.
“Hey, are you okay?”
I was jerked back to reality. I forgot that I wasn’t alone. So I faked a smile. “Your house is divine.” I managed to say. It should be a sin for someone not to say something when coming here for the first time.
“Thank you.” He replied with a slight shrug as if the house actually meant nothing. “I designed it.”
I was surprised. “You did?”
He nodded, finally I could see a hint of pride in his smile.
“Wow! You are so good.”
He smiled. “Come, let me show you to your room.”
I followed him as we climbed a flight of stair cases. When we finally got to the landing, we entered a room. Not too big but cute and very clean. The bed was properly laid with blue bed spread and a mixture of blue and yellow pillows. The wall was white and every other thing in the room was either yellow or blue. There was another room, which he opened to reveal the bathroom.
“There are clean towels in the closet and every other thing you might need. You should shower, by the time you come back, the cook would be through with your food. Then we can go get you some new cloths. Alright?”
I nodded gratefully. “Thank you so much Nick.”
“You are welcome. Let me leave you to that. If you need anything, call me.” With this, he gave me one last smile before walking out and shutting the door after him.
I exhaled.
“This is too good to be true.” I said to myself before walking to the closet. The man must be an angel.
NICK
Everything was going fine at least. I have called Yvonne several times but she was not picking her call. Probably she was still shooting some scenes. I walked to our closet. Among the rows of her beautiful cloths, I was searching for the one that should at least fit Fiona.
Read " Happy Never After " by the same author ( Tobi Loba )
. She seemed to have more flesh than Yvonne.
I finally found a velvet gown which was actually very short. That was when I realized, all Yvonne cloths were either backless, armless, too short, or very opened at the cleavage.
I sighed.
I couldn’t give the lady any of these, I needed to make her feel as comfortable as possible and not to start thinking probably I have a purpose for her.
Finally, I settled for one of my own T-shirts and one of Yvonne’s pyjamas. Other trousers were just either shredded jeans or too skinny. I shook my head as this realization hit me but I was soon distracted as I heard my name.
NARRATOR
Somewhere far away in a secluded area….
In front of him was a system, and on the screen he watched as she climbed downstairs to meet the man. The young man handed her a yellow pyjamas and a T-shirt. They said something and later laughed. Then the cook came out to address them, together, they went to the dining.
He shut down the laptop and took out a pain and paper, on which he wrote- “Architect Nick Bradley. Challenge Avenue.”
It was almost time for him to make an appearance, but he knew he needed to wait, she would have to get comfortable first.
***************************************************************************
Okay Fellas. I’m sure we are confused. But the second man is another person entirely who is watching everything that is going on with Fiona and Nick. Is he a friend or a foe? Well, we will see as the story unfolds. Thanks for reading, please drop a comment… Enjoy the rest of your day.
