Forgetting You - Episode 15

*** THREE YEARS LATER **

HAILEY'S POV

Beautiful.. That's the only word that cones into mind as I sit in front of the large mirror staring at my reflection.

The woman looking back at me from the mirror isn't the same woman sitting behind it.

Yep, we look alike but we are worlds apart.

The woman in the mirror looks beautiful, sassy, sophisticated, prim and proper, wild and s-xy.

But the woman seated behind it is just plain, dead.

I sigh. I know my comparisons make absolutely no sense because technically and literally, It's me staring at my own reflection.

I sigh again, tucking a loose braid behind my ear.

I look beautiful.

With the make up, sophisticated dress and all but I'm dead inside.. I can't believe it's been three years since I last saw Olivia.

My baby. She must be all grown up now.

She must already be talking now, walking, jumping around and laughing.

She must have started schooling.

I smile sadly at the thought. 

I never for once stopped thinking about her for a second in all these years even though I never planned to get pregnant.

I Still adore her.

She's my flesh and blood.

"Boss seeks your presence"

a feeble voice interrupts my thoughts and I turn to find a girl, not more than 16years, standing behind me.

She must be one of those new girls Hank recruited from different orphanages worldwide claiming to adopt them.

"Oh. Tell Hank I'll be with him soon"

I dismiss the girl who gasps

. I raise an eyebrow

"What?" 

I bark and she flinches instantly.

"B..boss"

She begins and I laugh

"His name is Hank right? You choose to call him boss and I choose to call him Hank, after all it's his birth name. Go tell Hank I'll be there"

The girl nods with her jaw practically dropping to the floor.

She turns and scurries out the door.

I scoff as I stand up and adjust my dress..

. It's a green v-cut tight fitting gown that flares around the knees to my feet.

The shiny stones embedded in the gown sparkles under the light and I smile despite my miserable condition.

It's a beautiful dress I must say.

Sighing, I walk out the dressing room and head towards boss' chambers.

"Sir" 

I acknowledge his presence as soon as I get to his chambers.

"I have a job for you Hailey. You'll be meeting a client later in the day near Shining Star Montessori school. I hope you know the location"

Hank asks

"No. I'm sure I'll find my way"

"Dismiss"

he waves and i walk out.

I can't believe I'm going to sell more drugs. 

I will never get used to this.

JASON'S POV

Squeak! Squeak! I groan.

Another squeak!.

"Oh for Christ's sake!"

I yell in frustration as I kick the stupid teddy bear I had stepped on. 

I move groggily towards the dining table and place the plates of sandwiches on the dinning table.

I rub my eyes and put on my glasses.

Ugh! I feel so sleepy.

I barely slept last night.

Why? Because Olivia made me sing all the lullabies on earth for her and she still didn't sleep.

That little manipulator.

She kept giggling all the time while i sang my heart out. Point of correction.

I sang my ugly voice out.

I sigh and kick another teddy bear out of my way and proceed to pour milk into two glasses.

"Daddy!!"

The little voice screams and I instantly know my manipulator is awake.

I turn to her, staring down at her overly smiling face.

"Well hello to you too little one" 

I wiggle my eyebrows and she giggles.

So sweet.

"Come let's go give you a bath yeah?"

She nods and runs into the bathroom.

"Daddy!! Water! Water!"

She squeals and I hear water splashing.

This girl loves to make a mess everywhere. 

I shake my head and follow her.

I wonder when she grew so fast.

One minute, she was in my arms and then next she was already getting ready for her first day in school.

After dressing her up in her new school uniform, and tying her hair into a rather ugly bun I would say, I led her to the dinning table.

Before we could begin eating, the door suddenly pushes open and I groan as Olivia jumps off her seat and runs towards the door.

"Who lives in a pineapple under the sea!!!!"

Stupid Alex sings, more like screams.

"Spongebob square pants!!!"

She replies shouting.

"I said who lives in a pineapple under the sea!!!"

"Spongebob square pants"

Olivia screams clapping.

I slap my face.. I still can't get used to this absurd way of them greeting each other..I mean, they practically sing this ridiculous song anytime they see each other.

"And who's the most beautiful girl in the whole world!!"

Alex sings

"Me me me!!!"

Olivia sings.

"And who's the best uncle in the whole world!!"

"You you you!!!!"

Oh Lord save me..

"In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight!"

They begin to sing together and like always, they both turn their butts in my face and begin to whine and shake their butts at me, clapping.

As much as I find this ridiculous, I can't help but burst out laughing.

Alex and Olivia combined is equals to disaster.

"Okay that's enough. it's too early for such drama. Come princess, eat before we got to school"

I tell her and she pouts as she walks back to the table.

Today is her first day and I don't want her getting late.

I eye Alex who's also eyeing my sandwiches.

"Eat before you devour the entire dining table"

I say and he immediately grabs two sandwiches, pours himself orange juice.

I roll my eyes.

"No princess. Take the milk"

I say to Olivia who makes an attempt to take a glass of orange juice.

"Okay"

She says and grabs the milk I poured her...

"Hurry up. I've got to get to work on time"

I glare at Alex who's shoving all the sandwiches into his mouth.

I glance at my wrist watch and sigh.

I Just hope I get to the company on time before my dad starts throwing his tantrums.

They got worse after he returned from his trip to find a child in his home.

That man screamed the entire house down for several days.

He's still at loggerheads with me even though it's tolerable now.

And of course I'm not ruining that by telling him I've started painting again and selling a few secretly.

"Daddy"

I look down to see Olivia tugging at my trousers.

"You finished eating? Come on school time"

I say and she grins before running to pick her be from the sofa.

She still doesn't know I'll be leaving her alone in school for several hours else she'd be crying by now.

Olivia runs back towards me and I frown.

"No running remember?"

She nods, panting.

Running so much isn't good for her because of her condition. 

I guess I'll need to have a talk with her teacher.

"Who lives in a pineapple under the sea!!"

I hear Alex shout.

Olivia flashes her million dollar before opening her mouth to respond and I groan.

"Not again!"

These two are going to be the death of me.
