Love-Life of Asante - Episode 27

"And so, I learnt Akosua and Asher are getting married oh" Ayo said to Adesuwa in their conversation during Adesuwa's lunch break.

They both work in the same city and Ayo had come to pay a visit to her. The last time they meant was about three weeks ago at the hospital when Asante fainted.

"Yes oh. Am so happy for my friend. If a soothsayer had told us Akosua would marry first, who would have believed?" Adesuwa said to him as she was very happy for her friend Akosua even though she surprised.

Ayo had decided to continue with what he had passion for - Teaching. This was the same skill that first drew him closer to the ladies in their University days.

He was that good in explaining to students that he decided to take it up as an occupation. Since he graduated with first class honors, he decided to continue his passion right there in Kenyatta University.

Adesuwa however knew her power was in her tongue. And being a proper African girl, with a mixture of Nigerian accent and her Kenyan background she took up a profession in TV presenting at the CNBC African TV, Nairobi.

Ayo had come to visit her and they both took the opportunity to have lunch together during her break.

"Such is life my dear. With the way you and Asante were fond of treating that girl thenehn, one would never had thought she will get married till she was 40

. But now, look at her and look at you guys." Ayo said still displaying his constant naughtiness from the University days as he mocked them jokingly.

"Ayo, Ayo, Ayo! How many times did I call you? Take your time oh. Ehn" Adesuwa responded as she had gotten annoyed already.

Just then Ayo started laughing and then said "Am sorry jare, I was just pulling your legs. Even though I am right sha" Then he winked his eyes to her once more.

"You this boy sha. It's God that will help you" Adesuwa said.

"Perhaps we can go home together na, just wait for me to quickly take the news updates @3. You know it's very rare seeing you around. Maybe we could take this opportunity out." Adesuwa added wanting to spend more time with him.

"Of course, why not. Feel free. Go ahead and do your thing. I will be here waiting." Ayo replied knowing fully well that his plans were already coming to pass and working together for his good...

While Adesuwa was reading the script of the news update @3, she was surprised at what plans Ayo and the other staff of CNBC had made together.

While she was wrapping up the news for the hour and still live on air, Ayo walked in kneeling down while she still sat where she was. She had to pause the news as she was dumbfounded.

"My beauty, My everything" Ayo started as he dropped the first lines of his proposal still on his knees.

Bowing down his heads being very shy on TV, he said "I have always wanted the whole world to watch you like this as you smile.

. I have always wanted the whole world to watch as I tell them how much of a beautiful soul you are to me. Truth is my life can never exist independently from yours. Please Adesuwa, marry me and let me be your star" Ayo said lastly bringing his words to an end. It was quite short but straightforward.

The whole production crew all gestured one way or the other with amazement as they were anticipating her response. The camera was even zoomed the more to Adesuwa's face, so as to see clearly the shock expressed by her as she still couldn't believe that this was being carried out on national TV.

Soon tears came out her eyes like the emotional baby that she has always been

Following the tears however was the word "Yes"

"Eh" Shouted the production crew simultaneously. Soon a music had begun to play on the background as Ayo placed the ring on her hands. It was like a movie being shot live. It was awesome.

And so, Adesuwa was engaged to Ayo and Akosua was engaged to Asher. Only Asante who started dating first had none. Life indeed they say, is an individual race. Not based on who started first.
