My Mistake - Episode 25

Life is unfair, absolutely unfair! Abdallah thought sadly as he lay down on his bed, his hand covering his face.

And who said a divorcé isn't a woman? Like seriously? He knew there are stereotypical beliefs about divorced women, but he never knew his mom will be part of the clique. And now, she's trying so hard to ruin the happiness he had tried building. Why?

'Because Aysha is a divorcée' his consciousness reminded him.

He knows he need to tell Aysha, but what will she think of him? What if she withdraw back to her initial state of mind? What if she stops loving him? What if? What if? It has been three already ever since his mom started throwing tantrums about Aysha being a divorcée, and he has been trying so hard to act calm around Aysha so she wouldn't notice.

His phone rang beside him, bringing him out of his reverie. He stretched his hand lazily and grabbed it.

"Hey, i missed you" he heard Aysha said as soon as he picked up.

He smiled, his heart beating furiously against his ribcage "hi, i missed you more."

"Duh! Why repeating what i said?"

"Cause i love you?" He asked smirking "and you're going to be my wife soon?"

"Ugh! How you?"

"Am fine now, after listening to voice i mean."

"Why are you being chessy this afternoon?"

"Owh, wow! So I'm being chessy right?"

"Of course" she replied as she snorted "drop it."

"Okay. Everything okay?"

"No, yes___I...yes."

"Calm down Aysha

She was quiet for a while and Abdallah was getting anxious with every passing second. He sat up and grabbed his car keys from the bedside drawer and wore is black cap to compliment his white caftaan.

"You therr" he asked again, making his way towards the door out of his room.

"Baba wants to see you" Abdallah suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Is that what is making you uncomfortable?" He asked slowly.

"Why, yes. I'm scared__i don't know why he asked to see you and am scared he wants to tell you to back away cause Fadeel came to see him yesterday."

Oh, that was it? Abdallah thought.

He sat back on his bed and buried his head in one hand.

"Look, calm down okay? Nothing of such will happen In shaa Allah, so calm down. When should i come see him?"

"After isha prayers."

"Okay. Just calm down okay? Everything is going to be okay trust me. I love you."

"I love you too. Bye."

She streched her sore hands and limbs and winced slowly. Damn! Fadeel does really know how to beat. It has now become a daily routine, for Fadeel to beat her till she couldn't move, and she still won't stop talking and cursing him.

Did she even deserve this? She thought.

She ought to be happy after driving Aysha out of her life, but why does Fadeel keep pushing her into doing things she never dreamt of doing to him? Shouldn't he have loved and cherished her?

The loud bang of the door made her look up and her eyes caught up with that of Fadeel smiling as he spoke through the phone.

"Don't worry baby", she heard him say as he sat on the chair across her "i can't wait to also make you mine."

What? Amirah's eyes widened. Is Fadeel planning to take in a second wife? Over her dead body.

"Don't bother about that old hag my love, there's nothing she can do about this."

He was silent for  a while before she heard him say "really, I'll come see you now baby" and he left, while she lay down in pain on the hard tiled floor.

There's a big fire on the mountain!!!!

"Yaya Fatee you need to talk to mama, what she is trying to stop me from doing is unheard of" Abdallah complained to his eldest sister.

Yaya Fatee inhaled deeply before looking up "You know how mama is Abdallah, i can only try__but there's no guarantee."

'I know Yaya Fatee, just try."

"I will. I hope she agrees."

"Mama has to please, her dad asked to see me yesterday. I thought he's going to deny me her hand in marriage, but he surprised me and said to send my relatives so they can finalize everything. But i don't want to tell Baba about it without mama's consent."

"Don't worry, I'll try my best."

"Thank you Yaya."

"You're welcome bro."
