The sound of my ringing tone interrupted my thinking

I smiled and picked it up when I saw Frank's name

"Happy birthday dear"

I sat down comfortably to answer the call

Lizzy mouthed "I am coming" and went outside still looking pale

I continued looking at her but decided to answer my call and ask her questions later

Maybe she knows something about Austin

"Am staying"

I turned confused at what Lizzy was saying

"I don't understand dear, staying where"

"My manager just called me, he sent me on an assignment which happens to be close from here and I will stay for three months"

"Wow, that's good news. At least no more staying alone in this house" 

I shouted happily and hugged her

I almost forgot that I am preparing for a date

I looked at my watch

"OMG, its 4:30 already

Lizzy I gat to go, Austin will be waiting"

"Okay dear, I will be right here waiting for you and don't forget to flex your birthday cus you must give me every tinny details of anything that happens"

"Yes mah"

We hugged and she smacked my bum

"You look so hot babe"

I smiled running away from more smacking

I reached Supreme Taste Fries and Restaurant in a hurry

I wondered why he choose this place

Maybe their food is good

The inside was superb and romantic, colorfully designed in yellow and green in a spacious compound

I can say its a favored place for family hangouts and peer get together.

I looked around trying to recognize Austin but I couldn't because his face is still in my fuzzy memory 

I decided to call him on phone

I called but it never connected

Frustrated I thought "maybe I shouldn't have been here in the first place"

He walked out of the rest room, pressing his phone, looking around as if searching for someone

Judging from his look, he is stinking rich and he is moderately tall.

The kind of guy I would have fallen for.

I looked away from him and made my self comfortable on the chair beside me

I brought out my diary. Where I put down any song or line that comes to my mind.

"Jamb question by simi, my ring tone filled the air

I looked at the screen seeing that it is Austin picked the call

"Hello" I said expecting a reply from the other end but it is quiet.

I disconnected the call and dropped the phone on the table.

"You are late" he said sitting down opposite me

I smiled and raised up my head but to my surprise its the guy I was admiring some minutes ago

He is very much handsome

He took my diary and scanned through it

"Oh I forgot to put it inside my bag after using it

I snatched the book from him

"Austin, that's not nice"

"Reading my diary on our first date"

He raised his hands in defeat but narrowed his eyes

"Do you love music or are you just a fan of SIMI" 

He queried looking at me

I closed the book and put it safely inside my bag

"Are we going to talk about music on my birthday date"

I said in a bid to close the chapter

He seemed to understand and signaled the waiter to bring the menu

I looked at the menu and choose Roasted plantain and grilled fish.

He also choose the same thing

We glanced at each other and I can't deny myself the pleasure of admiring him.

He is wearing a piece of well tailored suit that matched his dark brown skin.

He has a cute little face that remind me of Tony.

They strangely look alike

"Can you stop judging me with your eyes"

"The food is here let's eat"

We ate the food in silence

He asked some prying questions

I answered the ones I am comfortable with and ignored others especially his quest about my diary

I heard my alarm which I set to remind me when its six o'Clock

The time I mapped out for the date #lol#

I don't want to stay more than I bargained

I hurriedly ate my food 

Austin got the lead and ate his food too

Although he tried persuading me to stay longer but I refused

"Austin I need to go, its late already"

"I really enjoyed my time with you especially the food"

I winked at him

"Okay dear, maybe next time will do

I picked my bag and we walked outside to our various cars after biding each other farewell
I know we spent most of the time silence but I enjoyed his company especially his interest in music

I felt connected to him

He stood there looking at me until I drive off the car park

Now I have Lizzy to face

I have nothing special to tell her but that's the least of my problem

Am going home with a peace of mind

I think I am beginning to warm up to guys.

I mean Sam is not a true definition of guys.

I giggled at my thought at the same time scared

Maybe I should let my grudges go and let my instincts guide me
