Obiageli - Episode 18
Obiageli was busy around the compound, it was Nnenna's traditional marriage and everyone was busy with activity.
Okafor was with the men in his Obi, Eberechi and other women were cooking in the kitchen while Ezinma saw to her daughters dressing up for the appraisal of the men, she was a very proud mother and Oluchi knew her own day would never come.
Everyone was making themselves useful and Obiageli was busy washing plates of persons who had eaten when Adaeze came to meet her
"We need more water" she said, Adaeze was yet to take in after being married for three years now
"Don't you see I'm busy"
"That can wait" Adaeze said
Obiageli just continued washing plates and daydreaming not minding her, she smiled to herself thinking about Uche. Adaeze stared at her discovering it was useless arguing with her especially when they had visitors, Obiageli was possessed, she just didn't know how to prove it. She went back inside to tell her mother
"Mama she did not answer me"
"What..that girl, who else does she want to go to the stream, she's the youngest"
"Abi o"
Eberechi stood up and went out of the kitchen, She met Obiageli singing to herself
"Obiageli...We need water, go to the stream and fetch" Eberechi came and ordered, rolling her eyes, Obiageli rinsed her hands and stood up
" Everyone else is busy ndoonu"Eberechi consoled
Frowning, Obiageli took her pot and made her way towards the stream, telling herself she could continue her daydream on the way.
She got to the stream and dipped her pot in to fetch water when Ego suddenly appeared from nowhere
"Eheh..so you have looked around the entire village and it is my man you want to collect.." She said, her voice raised. She was with her friend Ifeoma who was another fighter in the village, Obi looked around for escape but there was none, they were the only ones in the stream that day

. She knew this day would come, just didn't expect it would be this early.
"She has mind o" Ifeoma was saying"of all the men, Uche kwa eeeh"
She carefully kept her pot and faced her arch enemy
"Uche is not your man, he told me so himself" she said calmly
"Eheh...you this useless girl, you think you can compete with me abi" Ego shouted
"Ego Ikenga nwanyi oma" her friend praised
"I will deal with you today, when I'm done with you, even Uche would not recognise you" she pulled her slippers set for a fight
"di snatcher" Ifeoma clapped at her as Ego pulled her into a fight.
Obiageli had a dejavu of when they fought when they were children, but this was more aggressive and was for a course with Ifeoma supporting the beating.
Chidinma arrived at the stream, saw her friend being beaten and joined in the fight, She and Ifeoma were at lock heads, kicking and biting each other.
Obiageli tried to beat Ego but couldn't, Ego was very strong having grown up among boys, so she dragged her into the water and they both disappeared....the other girls had not noticed, when they did, they parted...
"Obiageli..." Chidinma called
"Ego" Ifeoma called
Scared they had both drowned.....Obiageli suddenly bobbed out...and Ego was seen floating
Ifeoma dived in to save her friend, pulled her out and continuously pressed her chest till Ego spat out water...
"What did you do to her?" Chidinma asked her in shock, Ego was not new to swimming, so how could she have drowned?
Obiageli quietly carried her pot and made her way back home.
