Palm lines 2 - Episode 34

 Sharon's POV

Ever since Ade got discharged, I barely slept at home because I felt the need to take good care of him.  
The following week he resumed work despite the fact I pleaded he stayed back until he was fully okay.
He came back one Monday all excited and while we kissed, he looked at me intently then said,  "How about we work on our baby making plans?"
 I scoffed. 
"Are you being serious right now?" I asked and he smiled affirmatively. 
"Yes"
"You're still recuperating"
"Says who? It's you who should be scared"
"Seriously? I was just being merciful" I moved back and he dragged me close and I laughed. 
"I'm scared you might get injured. I mean s*x involves a lot exercise and I don't think you're ready for it"
"Well leave me to decide what I'm ready for" he unbuttoned my pyjamas and and I laughed.
"I had to choose a bad day to wear a pyjamas" I commented and he laughed.
"Let me wear something sexier, maybe a s*xy lingerie" I complained and he laughed. 
"Thst's funny cause I can bet you don't own anything s*xy" he snapped and I touched my chest feigning hurt. 
"Ouch. That hurts" 
"I'm sorry" he laughed and I bit my lower lip taking off the top and he kissed my n*pes and I closed my eyes. 
"For the last time as a considerate girlfriend, I'm begging you to reconsider

. I don't want to hear a grown man cry" I teased and he laughed kissing me on the lips then I took off his the polo shirt he had on.
"It's so on" he took the challenge and we made passionate love.

My hands roamed around Ade's scar the following morning, then I remembered Tasha's knife piercing through him and I shut my eyes in disgust.
"Scars of victory" he muttered and I chuckled softly. I didn't even realize he was awake. 
"Its a sign they tried but they couldn't keep us apart" he answered kissing my lips and I kissed him back. 
"Shouldn't we start making wedding plans? The baby's going to start showing" he touched my belly and I laughed.
"Not like I'm already pregnant. It might not even work now"
"I'm a good scorer, I'm pretty sure I shot my shots well." He argued and I laughed at how silly he was about it. 
Strangely, a month and a week later, the pregnancy test came out positive just after Tuni's wedding. I couldn't tell Mom about it; I didn't know how to and I wasn't sure what her reaction would be. I only told Tuni.

 I traveled to New York where I spent two days because I had a meeting with an investor. After I got back to Nigeria, I took a cab home. I was so tired so I went back home. 
Mom made rice for me and Ofe nsala for herself. I suddenly lost appetite for the rice and I felt like having a taste of the Ofe nsala.
"Is the soup making you feel uneasy?" She asked I shook my head. 
"Just because I'm married to an Idoma man doesn't mean I won't eat my traditional meal anymore"
"Can I have a taste?" I asked and she raised her brow in surprise. "Sharon you've never asked for a taste before.... What happened to the rice? Doesn't it taste nice?"
"I want to try something new that's all"
"Okay...." She paused staring at me suspiciously. 
"Seriously Sharon? Is that all? I'm going to ask you this question and I ask for a honest reply" 
"Yes I'm pregnant" I answered before she asked and she smiled. 
"I knew it! The difference is in your b*obs, they are bigger and perkier" 
"You haven't felt it"
"I didn't need to feel it" 
"You're not angry?"
"Sharon you're an adult and you have the right to make your own decision. I'm pretty sure it was intentional" she guessed and I gave a gentle nod.
"Does Ade know?"
"Yes."
"How long gone are you?"
"A month and two weeks" I answered and she smiled. "That's so sweet and you're having cravings already. I didn't have that till the end of my first trimester."
She washed her hands passing the soup and eba to me.
"Feel free to dig In, i have more from where that came from"

Ade's POV

"So I heard you impregnated my daughter" Mr Savage sounded and I searched for words to explain myself but there was none. 
"I should be angry but for something reason, I'm happy I'm going to be a grandfather" he seemed genuinely happy.
"Congrats Ade, you'll soon be a father" he shook my hands and I smiled.
"You'll finally knows how it feels when your daughter sneaks behind you to have sex and also gets pregnant" he commented and I wasn't sure if he was mad at me or not. 
"Just joking" he answered and I chuckled. 
"It's not an easy job, I won't lie. I think you two will have to learn. I'm still yet to fully understand Sam, Josh and Sera"
"Are you trying to scare me?"
"I'm preparing you for what's ahead" 
"Thank you Sir"
"How's the building coming up?" He asked and I smiled. 
Mr Savage called Sharon and I up to an address and i drove us over to the place. We found Mr Erika there and I wondered what had happened. 
"Mom what's going on?" Sharon asked and Mr Savage raised a key at me and I collected it, "What's this for?"I asked then my eyes gazed upon the house; it finally made sense to me.
"No. I can't accept it" I answered and he frowned.
"I already made plans to move out and I contacted an agent already." 
"The agent contacted me and when I found out it was you, Erika and I thought, why can't give this to the children as a pre-wedding gift"
"Although I told him you would definitely disagree" Mrs Erika added and I sighed.
"I wanted to do this myself"
"The house is now in your name, it has three rooms and a spacious space for a garden or play park when the kids grow and they want to play outside with friends. The estate is a quiet one and the security is quite tight and best of all, it's close to the restaurant" he answered and I chuckled.
"Is that what you do to convince clients?" I asked and he chuckled.
"Is it working?" 
"Yes" I answered and Sharon jumped in excitement.
 "Thank you Dad" she kissed him on the cheek and Mrs Erika dragged Sharon in. "You need to see the inside" 
 I looked at Mr Savage and I was just speechless, I had a lot I wanted to say but I didn't know where to start.
 "Here comes the speech" he chipped in and I laughed.
"I don't know what I've done to deserve this love you've shown to me. Ever since I left My step Dad's house, you've been a father to me" 
"And you've been a son too"
"I've never regretted making you my mentor. Thank you very much Sir"
"You're welcome son." He answered and I smiled.
No words could describe my joy on my wedding day, the love and the support I got from families and friends was immense. I barely did anything for myself. 
Aboh came for the party too; I noticed him talking to Shirley.
"Is Aboh flirting with Shirley?" Sharon asked and I chuckled. 
"I noticed"

Erika's POV

Congratulatory messages were in order on Sharon's wedding day. I had a lot of people coming to me to appreciate me for raising Sharon well and honestly i was elated.
The shock on Sharon's face after Principal Gbade honored our invitation.
I went back to meet the girls afterwards. 
"What are you guys talking about?" I asked,  "How our daughters will grow up and get married" Dorcas answered and I laughed.
"That should be like in the next Eighteen or sixteen years" I answered then I sighted Cynthia walk towards us with long flowing red gown she wore and I almost rolled my eyes.
"What's this bitch doing here?" Kechi asked and I shrugged.
"She's definitely here to make trouble and I'll give her that trouble" Kechi snapped.
"Let's just hear what she has to say" I suggested, "Hear what?" She hissed.
"Madam nobody wants to hear what you want to say" Kechi snapped as she drew near and Cynthia rolled her eyes. 
"Is that a unanimous agreement or you still have something against me?" She asked and everyone went quiet.
"Well sha, I'm also interested in what she has to say" Vera answered, "Let's just hear her out" she added and Kechi rolled her eyes.
"This bitch has nothing but poison in her mouth" 
"Kechi" I warned and she rolled her eyes.
"What do you want to say to me Cynthia?" I asked and
"I just wanted to say... you look really nice, you all do actually" she commented and Kechi struggled with a smile. 
"Okay continue" she encouraged, "Sharon looks amazing too. I was wrong Erika, when I said you couldn't raise Sharon because of how she was and ..... Maybe it was me, maybe I was a bad mother and I was wrong to say you can't be mother Theresa Erika, you've raised Sharon to be a good woman like you are, to love and be happy. I only raised her in hate and frown, I guess that was a why I was jealous of you that year. The way you made David happy, I never made him that happy, not once and I thought maybe karma will catch up with you too for stealing my husband; that some other woman will come and take your place but it have been so and.... I know I've been crazy and I've done crazy things in my life but I've come to realize David truly loves you." She fanned her eyes. "I don't want to ruin my make up" 
"Thank you" I muttered and she smiled. 
"I guess I was just being a bitch all those years"
"That's the best thing you've said apart from the fact that we look beautiful" Kechi stopped a waitress taking ordering for wine and glasses. 
"Let's drink to this confession, they say heaven rejoices when a soul repents so let's celebrate this repentance" she suggested and after we all got glasses of wine and we drank to it.

Mrs Reiner walked to the stage, part is me wondered what she wanted to do. She spoke to the MC and she eventually had a microphone, the music stopped and she requested for everyone's attention.
"Good afternoon everyone or good evening as it may be. I'm a palmist by gift and this doesn't mean everyone should run to me after this for consultation cause I don't operate that way. I see what Eledumare wants me to see" she smiled. 
"I want everyone here to raise up their palms" she requested and we all did, "Now look into it" she requested and everyone did.
"I'm not trying to scare anyone here, I'm trying pass a message.

"In my study of different palm lines, I realize various palm lines come with their own complexities. I've never seen an uncomplicated line before. You see the lines intercept, paths crosses and sometimes we try to find ourselves, self actualization and If you don't have foresight you'll lose balance of life and you lose yourself completely, someone of us even lose love." She paused then she laughed.
"I know it'll look like a mad woman's ranting but if only you understand what I'm saying, if you don't, you lack foresight" she added and I chuckled.
Of course I understood; I'm married to a man I never knew was the father of my twins at first instance. My story with David could have ended badly if I didn't take counsel.
"No matter how complex it is, to those people that doesn't believe in love, the bottom line is there's love out there and there's hope finding that love and no problem lasts forever. Weeks ago my daughter Tuni Festus got married, I never thought it was possible. It's a start  of a love story I thought would be impossible or would take long to be actualize but it happened. Now my second daughter has just taken the same step. When I say second daughter, I've known Sharon for years now and she is more like a daughter to me. This family has been through shit, permit my language, we've been through hell and we've jumped back. I've watched great love stories start up," she turned towards me and I smiled and David stood behind me and the girls went their own way.
 "Ade and Sharon are about to begin their own love story" she raised her glasses up.
"Toast to the best love story untold and to many more to come" she smiled, "Cheers" she added and everyone joined in.
"And before I forget, cheers to those searching for love, may God bring love your way"
"Amen!" Everyone chorused and David wrapped his hands around my waist and I chuckled looking at the man I'll grow old with.
