Travel Plans
Ifeanyi on the other side found the girl that was staring at him during the game. She was picking beans when he saw her some metres away. He gathered up confidence and went to meet her.
“Hi, what’s your name”? Ifeanyi asked as his heart was racing.
“My name is peculiar”, she said with her head bowed because of shyness.
“I’m Ifeanyi”, he said as he gathered up courage.
The conversation went on and they were able to know more about each other and they became close friends.
Ifeanyi had been staying with Shintu for three months now and Shintu had never complained. This was because all his children and grandchild had to cities for schooling and employment.
Ifeanyi was very productive as he helped Shintu and the other hunters. He had the opportunity to kill an antelope for the first time in his lifetime. This has always been the dream of the Dare Devils and he was able to achieve this feat on exile.
He gathered up courage and went to meet Shintu to tell him that he wanted to see his family. Shintu did not oppose the idea but didn’t want him to leave because of the great contribution he had added to him and the other hunters.
Ifeanyi went to tell Peculiar that he wants to travel home but that he’ll be back. They waved themselves goodbye and Shintu and two other hunters followed him for two days until they were two hours more to Amantu village.
Shintu then gave him his personal cutlass and catapult and they then went back to Saramie village

Chika woke up in the midnight and saw everybody sleeping and snoring. The day had been stressful but Chika couldn’t sleep even though he was tired. He was fed up with Robin’s works already. He had been planning on how to escape.
Chika already gained Robin’s trust and Robin didn’t suspect that Chika might decide to leave. Chika then went to Robin’s drawer and took enough money from the savings Robin had earned.
He then went to the kitchen and took a bag of fried fish and he walked out of the gate and headed for the street which was already empty by now. He went to the car park and slept there overnight.
The sound of horn and tire screeching woke him up suddenly. There were enough empty buses and drivers awaited passengers.
Then Chika told the driver that he wanted to deliver some fish to Amantu village and he had to pass through two rivers. He then promised to give the driver enough money if he takes him to the first river.
The driver agreed and started the engine and Chika’s journey to Amantu village kicked off.
The bus stopped near the river and Chika paid the driver as promised. He then boarded a canoe going to the other side of the river. He then entered a second canoe before boarding a bus going to Amantu village.
Chika’s heart was racing excitedly when he was in the bus to Amantu village. The thought of home filled his heart that he didn’t sleep throughout the journey. He kept on singing happily and sometimes prayed for his friends and his sister, Ada.
-------------------------------------
Ada on the other hand had adapted to the ways of life of the city but the thought of her home kept on disturbing her. So she told Mr and Mrs Brandon that she wanted to visit her home but promised to always visit them every holiday.
Mr and Mrs Brandon didn’t oppose the idea because they already liked and trusted Ada. Mr Brandy, whose second name is Luke walked at the road transport office so he was quite familiar with the road.
He decided to help Ada back to Amantu village as his wife told him to follow her home so that they might visit her sometimes.
