Synder-Ella - Episode 7
**
Synder inhaled sharply as she opened the closest one more time, she could see the pack of the glassy pink shoes in the closest along with the beautiful gowns that she would be packing into the bag in her hand.
This should have been hers....her father would have wanted her to have this, her father....
It had been more than five years, yet, it seemed like yesterday when the letter had come, that her father had gone MIA.
It was almost evening and she had been waiting at the gate, awaiting her father’s arrival just like she had been doing for the past five years since her mother had died.
Like always, in her hands were the beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers just like his father had liked it, they were her mother’s favorite and it had become a kind of ritual in their house, no matter how his father’s new wife try to eradicate, it was something that she kept alive, it represented her mother, she felt like they were all still together.
Instead of his father’s cars and his normal way of calling her, “My beautiful Princess Ella, I am back,” but that never happened, instead, it was just the carriage man that had come to declare that her father was MIA.
Ella was her mother’s name, Ellana Thomas, and his father had said she looked like her mother so much, so she was named after her mother but it was only her father that would call her Ella, that had always made her blush because, Ella was really a beautiful woman even to her death which had occurred while Synder was just seven years old, then she had no idea what had caused her death, until she grew up and understood it was cancer.
Then, it had just been herself and her father until she clocked twelve when her father had come home with Pauline and the twins...that was when things changed...
“What are you doing staring at those clothes?”
Synder almost jumped out of her skin as she heard Fiona’s voice behind her.
“I am just about to start packing.” She said as she quickly started removing the gowns from the hanger to thrown on to the bed.
Fiona gave her a suspicious look as she chewed on the chewing gum noisily. “You have been standing there for hours, you thought I wasn’t watching?”
Synder was quiet and Fiona came closer...
“Fiona, I need you to leave.” Said Katrina from the door, Synder couldn’t be more grateful.
“You know you are such an ungrateful bitch!” Fiona blurted out at her sister who said nothing but opened the door wider for her to leave.
“I hope oneday, you will actually realize who your real sister is.” Fiona hissed before leaving the room.
Katrina slammed the door and groaned, “I can’t stand her!”
Synder forced a smile, she was folding the clothes one after the other while Kat sat on the bed.
“You like all those gowns?” She asked Synder.
“Yes, they are all beautiful.” Synder replied.
“There is another one that is still with the tailor though, the one you got measured for, that is the one I will wear to these.” She said, standing up and walking to the closest to bring out the shoes that Synder had been eyeing for so long.
Kat opened the box and brought out one of the shoes...”Your mother really had a good taste.” She said.
“Yea, she did.”
“Sorry, I have to pick it, we both know it looks best on me though.” She said while Synder was quiet, she had never tried wearing the shoe.
She watched as Katrina tried to put a feet into the shoe and realized it didn’t even fit...Synder almost burst into laughter but she cautioned herself and straightened up, “by tomorrow, after the whole diet I have subjected myself on, Madam Tina believes my leg would have shrunk and I would finally be able to wear it.” She said proudly, pulling back her hair.
“Hurry up synder, I haven’t got all day.” She said angrily, dumping the shoe in the bag and hurried out of the room.
Synder knew she was upset because the shoe didn’t still fit, she had been trying it on for months
