The sitting room erupted with laughter as Mariam sat with her boyfriend Chris who caught up with his friend Raymond who just arrived from Abuja after his youth service, they had been bestfriends from university days and it seemed they were still quite close
"So glad you back man" Chris fist bumped him "I was so bored in this town..except of course for my baby who's been keeping me busy"he said pecking Marian who smiled at him
Raymond raised his glass at him" can see you've been really busy, and she's so pretty, Marian right.."he asked
"You better keep your balls to yourself.."Chris said
Raymond laughed and kept his wine glass
"Glad I'm back.. Only its sure gonna be boring with no girl by my side"
"What did you do with all the women you've been carrying"
"Long story bro..long story.."they were all the same and he was in no mood to go into it
Chris shook his head with a laugh" Bad guy..you still have not change.. well its no bother we'll find you one...her friend for starters is a beauty"
Mariam's expression changed, But Raymond smiled broadly, impressed "Really, I ll like to meet her"
"You would.. Baby why don't you bring her to Raymond's party tomorrow night"
"I ll so be at your mercy" Raymond chirped in
Marian stared at Raymond passively "she doesn't like parties"
Raymond was shocked, he didn't like such girls, he wanted a go lucky girl who would get him laid immediately, his smile ceased as he wondered if she had another friend but Chris continued

Marian stood up."Hungry?"she asked as she left the men and went into the kitchen not at all pleased that Chris would sell off her friend like that, she knew Jessica had to move on and date but not right now, besides the guy was an obvious player who felt every woman should bow to his whim because he was good looking and had the cash but he was in for a rude awakening.
Marian decided she was going to introduce them and see what happens, knowing her friend though she knew he had his work cut out for him.
