The Emerald Chase - Episode 49

*** FIVE MONTHS LATER

"I will miss you"

"I will miss you brother.. All of you. I will be back in a few months.. Take care of my sister in-law"

Emerald tells her brother who hugs Carol with her protruding belly, kissing her.

"Take care of her bro"

Steven whispers into Darren's ears..

"Take this.. It's my wedding gift to you"

Tonia whispers handing a bag to her friend.

Emerald burst out laughing when she saw the contents of the bag

"Lingerie? Really?"

"Trust me!! When your husband sees you in that lingerie, he will go crazy"

"You're crazy!"

she laughs hugging her.

Few minutes later, they were waving at each other as the newly married couple boarded the plane.

As soon as the plane touched down, they alighted and walked a few distance when she spotted them..

"You made it!" Catherine says excitedly Darren smiles.

"Yes mother"

"Did you just call me mother?"

"Yes, you deserve more than that mother... I may not replace Frederick but I'm still your son. You saved me"

"My son"

Catherine sniffs hugging him.

"I would save you any day"

"Well will you stop crying so my wife and I can go and start making babies, your grandchildren?"

Catherine laughs. Emerald blushes.

"Of course son.. Your honeymoon suite is ready. Go make the babies. Welcome to the family my daughter"

"Thank you"

AT THE HONEYMOON SUITE

Darren walked out of the bathroom, a towel around his waist and wiping his wet hair with the other when he sees her standing at the foot of the bed wearing a lacy black lingerie.

"Wow!!"

"You like what you see?"

She asks walking towards him s-ductively.

"Damn! That lingerie looks good on you. All I wana do now is to help out out of it"

"That's the whole idea baby"

she wraps her arms around his neck, biting his earlobe lightly making him shiver.

He held her waist and crushed his lips with hers, kissing her with urgency.. He groaned when she trailed her fingers over his chest and back.. He carried her, legs around his waist and dropped her on the bed..

"You're beautiful.."

He kisses her neck and she mo*ns taking off the towel around his waist and threw it somewhere in the room.. Soon, her clothing was off and he was running both hands and lips over her entire body.. She ached and yearned for him.

She wanted him so bad as he took her to the moon and back with his touches and kisses..

"I want you now please"

she pleads and he only smiles at her as he obeys her command, making earth shattering love to her until she screamed out his name.

He was there to hold her and c-ress her until she rode out her high coming back to earth...

She yawned and groaned at the same time as she made her way downstairs towards the kitchen, probably where the loud music was coming from.. She strolls into the kitchen, ready to snap at whoever was making such noise so early in the morning.

She suddenly stops in her tracks as she walks in on the sight before her.. There in the middle of the kitchen stood her husband, wearing nothing but a pair of jeans hanging low around his waist with an apron tied around his waist as he swayed and shook his butt left and right to the song while turning something on the stove..

"Level up! Level up, level up level up! Level up!"

He sang to Ciara's level up.. She chuckles lightly when he suddenly goes quiet as the song played away.

He obviously didn't know the lyrics... And when the chorus came, he immediately shouted

"Level up! Level up!!"

Whining and shaking his butt.. Unable to keep quiet, she throws her head back and breaks into fits of laughter... Darren immediately turns at the sound of her laughter and grins widely..

"Good morning wife"

he walks over to and kisses her cheeks.

"Good morning.. I see you got your dancing game up this morning huh"

she teases, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"At least i dance better than you"

"Hmmm.. What were you cooking?"

"Scrambled eggs and some green tea for you. We run out of stocks so I was planning of rushing out to buy some foodstuff before you woke up"

"Let me help you then"

she makes to move but he stops her.

"You need a lot of rest remember?"

He says rubbing his palms over her protruding belly.

"I'm not sick D, I'm only pregnant"

she huffs

"I know but I'm not taking any risks. Just sit down while I prepare some breakfast okay?"

She sighs and nods.

"Okay"

"Good"

he kisses her cheeks and goes back to the stove.

Emerald watches as Darren rocks Elvis and Carol's almost one year old son in his arms ever so lovingly.

They had gone to Elvis' home for a visit after they returned from jail.

Darren had gone to visit his father after a year of marriage to finally forgive him.

Looking at him now, he looked happier, lighter.

That's what forgiveness does to you. It makes you feel lighter and free with no grudges to hold because the truth is you don't forgive people because they deserve.

If so,chief Benson didn't deserve an iota of it.

Instead you forgive so you can have your piece of mind She smiles.

She couldn't help but wonder how good he was going to be with their kids.

She rubs her swollen belly at the thoughts.

She couldn't wait to have her baby in her arms.

Her family would be complete.

Everything was alright.

It was worth it all. Just then, Darren lifts his head and their eyes meet.

He grins and winks at her from where he was seated.

She blushes.

She blows him a kiss and he dramatically catches the kiss and swallows it.

She laughs at his gesture..

"I love you,forever and always"

he mouths to her.

"I love you"

she mouths back to him and he goes back to cuddling the little boy.. She stares at them,smiling.

Yhup! It was definitely worth it.

And she wouldn't trade this for anything.

Emerald leans back into the couch, rubbing her belly.. Complete.. Everything was complete because God makes everything complete in his own time.

And this, was her time.
