The God And His Bride - Episode 11

"Since the introduction has been made, why don't we go to my office? Jeter? See you later" I say, smoothly grabbing my brother's hand to move him, he doesn't budge.

"Did she spend the night with you?" Oh my God, I'm going to die of embarrassment.

"Liang!, this is my working place, you can't do this here"

I say, hoping to all the gods kn earth that my brother does not make a scene.

He hates it when I see guys, mainly because  they always have a potential of hurting me.

It had killed him to see Ezra hurt me in high school and not being able to do anything about it.

"Fine, let's move it to a place with less eyes" He says, moving away, towards my office, it's safe to say my brother being a macho man sees it fit to evaluate anybody I move with, the only reason he's okay with Mila is because I and her have been friends even before he was born.

He will kill anyone who looks at me funny, while it's kind of sweet sometimes, I find it burdensome at this exact moment. 

"I'm sorry" I mouth to Jeter who winks at me, looking grave and serious. 

Oh my God, have I stepped into a movie set? 

Jeter is looking like he's being introduced to the patriarch of my family. 

He looks very serious. 

When we get to my office, Liang is dysnfing by my desk and immediately I get close to him, he's grabbing me and placing me behind his back. 

"Uh? Hello?" I ask in disbelief. 

"Again, did my sister spend the night at your house?" Liang asks and Jeter opens his mouth to reply, I roll my eyes from where I've brought out my head. 

"I believe you guessed correctly Man, why don't we talk about this civilly" Oh, my Gad! He did not just say that, He did not just insinuate that my brother is acting immature, Liang is gonna blow. 

"Civily?" Liang questions and I close my eyes, waiting for World War 3 to commence. 

"Sure why don't we do that?" Liang says and I slowly open my eyes in disbelief. 

"Liang?" I ask but he doesn't let me get out from behind his back. 

"Good, I've got an hour to burn, why don't we head down to the cafeteria for coffee?" Jeter suggests and Liang nods, turning around to gently kiss my head befor handing me my bag. 

They both exit and I fall down on my chair, emotionally exhausted. 

Sometimes I wonder why Liang wasn't born first, he acts like my son, brother and father at the same time. 

I find myself being grateful that Jeter had acted matured towards the situation, although I haven't asked but in sure he should be in his early 30s or late 20s,the fact that he acted civilized meant alot,he didn't budge at the fact that he is alot older than my brother who I am a lot older than. 

I find myself sighing again, here I am saying I felt refreshed earlier but after that display of cave man madness, I'm as exhausted as I was last night.

Realm of the gods. 

Present. 

"Maia..."Alixi continues in frustration, How this goddess makes him frustrated on a daily basis is beyond him

He would admit that he had been distracted for a little while and he hadn't noticed his best friend was gone. 

Now he has noticed, why won't they tell him where she had uprooted herself to? "

" Maia.. Miko can't just disappear into thin air without telling me where she's going, I'm very sure you know where she went"Alixi says again, if it was someone else, he would have dragged out the whereabouts of Miko but Maia needed to be handled with care, you don't know when she is gonna burst into tears. 

"Alixi, She's your best friend, she's been gone for 25 years and you are now just noticing?" 

"I was distracted" He says, totally banking on the fact that time moved differently in the realm of the gods. 

"You were not caring enough, that's what I see" 

"Maia!" He thunders, at his wits end. 

"Don't scream here, you will disturb the child lights" She says and his eye roll was one of legends. 

"You are really not going to tell me anything?" 

"Nope" She says popping the p, she and Miko are the only one of God's who can get away with being this insolent. 

If it was someone else, they would have their heads beneath his heels. 

"Fine, when I find her, I'm keeping her away from you" He says, moving away. 

"Good luck with that Alixi" She says cryptically and he wonders just where in the world the damn woman has gone.
