Tessy:

As soon as olivia and i are safely at the car park, i decide to text

favour lee. I suspect that he is emmanuel because of what he said this

evening about me having a friend with cancer. That was too out of the

blue. I remember how he had known some details about my chat with

favour lee five years ago. If emmanuel isn't favour lee then he knows

who is. I hope my message gets to him incase i die in the process of

what i have in mind to do once i get to warri. I check my phone to see

that its already 2:00am. Olivia is sleeping beside me with her head on

my lap. I caress her head longingly. I would make sure i don't get

killed. I cant leave olivia all alone in this world. The car we board

gets full and we start our journey home. During the two hours drive, i

plan my strategy. I just have to sneak into golden tiles company

through the fence they share with emmanuel's company. We get to my

rented house by 4:42am. Its already morning and olivia is awake now.

Along the way i bought bread and some eggs. I fry the eggs for olivia

and set he table for her to eat. I sit and watch her consume the meal

. I wish i could just stay here with

her forever but i have to do this not for revenge but to stop those

bastard from hurting other people. The drugs they traffic must have

destroyed so many lives and i feel like i am the only one that can do

something about it. I cant eat right now, i don't think i can stomach

food. After the meal, i bathe olivia and take my bath too then prepare

for my day. I put on a jeans trousers to avoid restrictions and a

faded polo shirt. I am not dressing to impress today. I finish my

dressing with a small knife which i stuff in my back pocket. Before i

leave, i give olivia emmanuel's number and ask her to call him if i

don't return by 7:00pm. I kiss her goodbye and walk out of the house.

This is it. The day i have been planning for so long. I get to work by

6:01am and the place is deserted. Only the security team is present. I

go upstairs and emmanuel isn't in his office. Well i hope he got my

message because it seems i won't be able to say goodbye in person.

I go out to the fence and look around to see that nobody is seeing me.

The fence is kindof smooth but it wasn't that hard to climb seeing

that its not tall. As soon as i get to the top, i make sure no one is

around the area in golden tiles, its quite early so its also deserted.

I jump in then lay low to check if the noise of my landing alert

anyone. After a while, i confirm that nobody is around and i walk

around in search of their garage. I find it quickly as its close to

place i landed. The door is open slightly so i slip in. Everywhere is

dark in here probably because the door is mostly closed. I feel my way

around a truck and move to the back ot it. I try to open it but its

locked. I move to the next one and its also locked. And so is the next

two. What was i thinking?. Ofcourse it would be locked. I hear the

door open and i squat to remain out of view. My heart beat accelerates

when i hear the person whisper my name. That voice sounds familiar. I

stand up and see that its emmanuel. What is he doing here?. I am about

to ask him exactly that when he stalks towards me and kiss me.

Shocked, i don't kiss him back at first but his tongue coerce my

tongue. I forget why i am here and i put my hands around his shoulder

and press my body into him. He breaks the kiss then stare into my

eyes.

"i love you, tessy ogeleka" he says and before i can reply, he kisses

me again this time with more passion. He pushes me towards one of the

trucks without breaking the kiss. My back hits the door and it opens.

This snaps me out of my fog of desire.

. What am i doing, i am going to

get caught and now emmanuel is also in danger. The door opens again

and this time, three men walk in. I drag emmanuel inside the open

truck.

"what is going on? Are you in trouble? Where have you been for the

last five years?" emmanuel asks all at once.

"I cant explain right now." i say as i open a carton inside the truck

and find white substance inside instead of tiles. I smell it and its

cocaine. I bring my phone out of my pocket and start taking pictures

as i open different cartons.i can feel emmanuel watching me.

"Is this about this diary i found in your suitcase?" he asks and

produces my dad's diary from his pocket. I snatch the book from his

hand. Thankfully its in good condition.

"why did you take it?!" i whisper yell and suddenly the door opens. A

man is standing there with a gun pointed at us.

"i found them!" he turns back to inform his colleagues and as soon as

his attention is away from me, i knee his balls and run with emmanuel

behind me. We don't get far as his colleagues comes out with a bigger

gun. someone hits the back of my head with the butt of a gun and i

loose consciousness.

My head is banging and i can taste blood in my mouth. I force my eyes

open and i see olivia and emmanuel tied separately to two pillars.
