My Mother!
That voice that cried before I cried my first tears.
They say the world is a place of pain that's why babies cry at birth
The empty space I stayed for months
The shout I hear when I err
The nag I hear when I disobey
The face I see when am whipped to correction
The hands that carried me before my legs
The feet that outran my own pairs
The lips that taught mine to say my first words
The idol am supposed to have
The only human guaranteed to not make me starve
The servant who's only goal is not to make me serve
The one who argues and punishes
As quickly as she do the dishes
Sometimes cluelessly as the words she said that made my first laugh
Punish me for as long as I had my first drink
And as painfully as my first kick
Is that same person I have to love everyday and every week.
The person who when old wants to control me earnestly
Who reveals the child you were to your children in all honesty, who contest with your wife for attention and say she did it respectfully. Is that same person you must protect bravely.
After death she leaves you with a space
Occupied now by your wife and kids
But deep down she leaves you empty
Because you miss;
The nag you hear when you disobey
The shout you hear when you err
And though it comes now from your wife, you will miss the empty space you stayed for months.
You will miss the woman who once cared for your wants.
You will miss your mother!!!!.
This is awesome,keep it up
