To the Sky

In a small corner of my heart,
they nested in little moulds of clay and dirt.
So small in nest of three eggs,
and wings that feared approaching legs.
Sweet tweets, hatching of lives,
extra heap to mortals' knives.
I never knew they such creature;
a blend of black white from shell miniature.
Never did I know my dreams could fly,
Never did I learn to look up high,
Till they tweeted and took to the sky.
