Touch

It's a thing we take for granted almost everytime,

Touch, hugs, laughter, and tears.

They are things that are precious and yet are the most basic things in our lives.

We touch spontaneously,

We hug cause we are just so happy,

We laugh cause we're just that funny,

And we cry cause we're just that sad,

It's a thing we do everyday and so very often,

It's just living.

But we don't all do that

No

Some of us don't touch, it's too embarassing

Some of us don't hug, what would people think?

Some of us don't laugh, cause it's silly

Some of us don't cry, it makes us look weak

It's just living.

But what happens when we realize we can't touch for much longer?

What happens when we realize we won't be able to hug, laugh or even cry, come tomorrow?

And all that's left is death, pain and suffering

What happens then?

Do we start touching and mean it?

Do we start hugging so tight we can't breathe?

Do we laugh so hard, we start to cry?

And do we cry so hard, the pain goes away?

Or,

Do we start touching, cause we just don't care what people think anymore?

Do we start hugging, cause we realize we won't be able to be silly for much longer?

Do we start laughing, even when we know we're just being silly?

Do we start crying, because, soon, it wouldn't matter if we're weak or strong?

Either way, we all take the human touch for granted.

But I say,

Why wait till then?

Why wait till when it wouldn't matter anymore

Start touching like it's the last one you're gonna get

Hug, cry and laugh, like it's your job.

And then touch some more.
