Waiting

Our love wasn't so easy anymore
It was becoming harder to love each other
Our flaws couldn't be hidden any longer
Our differences were too different
Our imperfections weren't so perfect anymore
We weren't so perfect anymore.
We had to talk about it
About the monster in the mess that was our relationship,
But because it wasn't the right time,
We had a lot going on,
We had our hands full, our plates overflowing
Because you said it wasn't the right time
You said we had to wait,
So I waited.
Waiting was a b*tch,
It gave me an itchy feeling, a feeling that was at the base of my spine.
Doing routine things like the dishes,
It was there, just right there.
Always perfect in it's timing.
Waiting pensively, dreading it with every fiber of my being
The pressure in my shoulders a weight too heavy to bear.
I was waiting for the time,
The day of reckoning.
And as your shadow fell over me,
I knew the time had come.
The waiting was over.
Wow
