Chioma - Episode 25

David stared as she left, he was tempted to drive after her but couldn't, he was weak, Chioma was right, maybe it was good he gave her space, and besides she didn't have where to go to, that he wasn't aware of. He quickly had a good look at the marriage certificate and felt his are on the marble floor, it was a fake one, with a forged signature which didn't belong to the lawyer, his heart squeezed as he remembered the couple were the only ones that signed on it, he had been angry and fooled  on his suppose marriage day.

"I'm a coward, I couldn't even fight for what's mine! He said weakly, a sparrow wine was beside him, he didn't need a glass, he just used the bottle.  Light flooded the whole house and he winced, he missed her already, she would have shouted "UP NEPA" at the electricity, he staggered to stand and at that moment, he felt angry, with his mum,c hiomas parents and himself, how could they use him so, with anger he dialed Chioma's mother

Hello,  David how.......

My marriage to Chioma  is it fake? he heard the woman stutter for words

Yes! She replied finally, David closed his eyes for composure, so if her parents were included in the fraud then Chioma wasn't going to be at home Is Chioma at home?he ask and dreaded the negative answer he got, he hung up and called Mercy

Have you seen my wife?

What happen? no, I haven't.Mercy replied, concerned, David exhaled deeply before saying "She left the house with the car, since morning, she didn't arrive at home and she isn't with you.......His phone vibrated, meaning another call was interfering so he told Mercy to hang up and answered the other call

Evergreen Hospital, your wife, Mrs Jack was involved in an accident few hours ago....

Why didn't you call me? David shouted in frustration then in a lower tune "Is she okay?

We cannot tell sir, she's just wheeled into operation room, it's an emergency, ....

David felt his world had capsized into the deepest darkest ocean, his wife and his unborn child were at the verge of dead just because of a stupid mistake, he made. He wore clothes and ran out,he needed to see her again,she couldn't die like that.

Maggie, Chioma's mother couldn't forgive herself, but how could Julian betray her so? she thought looking out to the window, her door opens and Julian walks in

Think about the devil......

...and the devil appears! She completes innocently  taking a seat, Maggie stared at her and decided she was done trying to help

"Why did you tell my daughter, it was a fake marriage?

I- ne-never told her! She tried to hide her shock but Maggie saw the shocked expression

"I thought we had a deal, that as far as your firm is still yours, your son was my daughters, how could you breach our deal, Julian how could you break my baby's heart that way, now, she's nowhere to be found.!

Mrs Julian looked horrible then she tried to explained" I only told my son, it was a fake marriage, they took it serious, and the promise I made to Ella was serious.

Who is Ella? Maggie asked wondering what bond they had to be friends.

/.....she's the girl that has been fighting over the land the firm was built, she's been throwing tantrums even the government that came to demolish the building were related to part of her troubles.....

Maggie laughed sarcastically "Julian you are dumb, no wonder you couldn't stay with your husband in Italy, how could you turn your son to a bait, and all the while, I thought you were helping me to cover up the lies I told my daughter, but you surprise me, dear in-law......

The phone vibrated, and she read the new message from David"  Get your self down to evergreen hospital, my love got into an accident all thanks to you,and if she goes blind again, I swear I'll make all of you including my mother blind.

After reading the message ,she sized Julian and shook her head "You are the worst fraudster I ve met!"
