Dance With Me - Episode 17

Tony opened his eyes, his eyes went directly to the wall clock on the wall, and it was some minutes after 9 in the morning. He yawned and rubbed his sleepy eyes before standing up.

He strained his ears to perceive the slightest movement in the bathroom and he heard nothing, still that wouldn’t stop him from knocking on the bathroom door before opening. He didn’t want a repetition of what happened the other day.

He climbed out of bed  and walked to the bathroom, he waited and knocked, there was no response, then he knew it was safe and he could work in.

When he got in, he rubbed his sleepy eyes at what he saw on the hanger in the bathroom, four of her panties were hanging there. He groaned but did his possible best to ignore.  This was what he had signed up for and where else would she actually spread them? The kitchen?

No!

He sighed and sat on the toilet seat while running a hand into his hair at the same time.

It was the first day of his plan, no more uch closeness, he needed to give her a wide berth, not for her sake but for his sake.

Minutes later, he left the bathroom and then went to pick his phone which was under his pillow, it was a message from Marcy, she said she was bringing breakfast for him at the club, okay, that was strange but lucky him!

He walked out of the room to the living room and that was when she he saw her.

She was dressed alright, seemed she must have taken her bathe when he was still fast asleep and she was wearing those shiny silver shoes that had been given to her the previous day.

She hadn’t seen him because she was still busy fitting into the shoes which were now fitted perfectly. She stood up to walk around, backing him

. It was like the shoes were specially made for her.

The way she carried herself in  those shoes was graceful but still...was that jealousy he was feeling inside of him? But jealous of who?

Angelica smiled and shut her eyes, she felt wonderful, it was like walking on the clouds without lifting her leg.  She wanted to scream but she was afraid that she might wake Tony up, so she just muffled a scream. She jumped and danced at the same time.

“Oh God! These shoes are heaven!” She said to herself before turning around only to find Tony staring at her.

“Oh, hi Tony, sorry, I didn’t see you come in.” She said with a smile.

Tony could see the excitement on her face and he tried to sound as nice as he could even though he could feel an unwanted feeling in the pit of his stomach

“Wow! You sound pretty excited today. What’s up?” He asked, walking to the fridge.

Angelica smiled, didn’t he see her shoes?

“Well. I am just trying these shoes on.” She said while he picked a bottle of milk out of the fridge before shutting it.

“Oh, I see. The mysterious gift.

. “ He stated, removing the lid from the bottle.

“Yea, they are so beautiful.” She replied, walking around in it.

“I thought you said you were going to return it.”

She frowned, she hadn’t expected that, besides, she had told the girls and not him.

“Yea, I said that to the girls and that was before I realized how comfy they are.” She replied.

“So that means you are keeping them.” It was more of a statement than a question and she shrugged.

“Well, they were gifted to me and I don’t know who sent them so I think I can keep them. Even if I want to return them, to whom will I return them ?’

He gulped down half of the milk before putting it back into the fridge, as he closed the fridge, he turned to her, “well, you have every right to do whatever you think is right, you are an adult.” He stated before walking out of the room.

Angelica was confused, why would he be giving her such a cold attitude? He didn’t even say how beautiful the shoes were or how they fitted her perfectly.

She sighed.

The guy was really beginning to be a pain in her ass. All of a sudden the excitement she had been feeling earlier was gone. Now she was just standing in the middle of the room and not feeling the shoes again.

Just then he came in from wherever he had gone to.

“Are you prepared for the show tonight?” He asked and she nodded.

“Yea.”

“Do you plan on wearing those?” He asked again, directly and trying to maintain a fixed glaze.

“I am not sure yet. I can decide to.”

“Well, you yourself said you don’t know who they came from. What if they were stolen?”

She gasped, “are you kidding?”

“No, I am just trying to be reasonable. What if the owner comes to claim them?”

Angelica bit back the tears that were coming. “Are you saying that I don’t deserve to be bought something like these?”

Tony raised a brown as he realized what he had said, “no, don’t misunderstand me please. I am just saying, since you don’t know who it came from, we don’t want a scandal at the club.”

“Thank you very much for your concern boss but I promise you I will return them once I am sure they were stolen but that is my decision. You can’t tell me what I need to do.” With this, she removed the shoes, dropped them on the floor and walked out of the room.

Tony sighed.

What had he done and what was wrong with him? He knew that he was behaving like a jerk but he couldn’t stop it and he had no idea why. She wasn’t his girlfriend but just his employee and his roommate, did that give him the audacity to dictate her life or make her life miserable just because he was feeling insecure about some stupid feelings that he was trying to deal with?
