Forever, Mitchell - Episode 12

°This is only the beginning.. That's what the sky told it's children °

"You will be serving this evening, Master Xavier is hosting his friends" 

Madam K announces to I and the other girls and I feel dread go through me. 

I haven't seen Xavier since the incident that time, I've made it totally impossible for us to cross paths. 

The man scares me and I don't want anything to do with him. 

Now I have to serve him and stay in close proximity with him for hours? Jesus, that's not good for me. 

I feel something is going to happen, how can I see the man just a day after I started dating his brother?

That can't be good. 

"I don't have to tell you the importance of today's dinner do I? I don't have to tell you what could possibly happen if you make a mistake" She says and we all nod. 

Well, this is going to be fun.

"Should you be in here?" I ask Tyler who is sitting atop a washing machine watching me. 

It's still about 3 hours to the dinner and on a normal day I should have been clocking out but today I'm working on overtime. 

"My girlfriend is right around the corner, you think I wouldn't want to be with her?" 

"You missed work today, didn't you?" 

"I went to the office, I just came back early, that's all" He says, using my hair to pull me closer. 

He works as a director in one of his brothers office, I think I got myself a rich boyfriend. 

Giggle. 

"I think you should give me a proper kiss" He says into my ear and I roll my eyes, looking at the wall behind him. 

"I knew you would never be satisfied, was this your plan? Seduce me?" 

I ask with a smile. 

"Is it working?" He asks with a hopeful smile. 

"Nope" I say popping the p. 

"Damn" He says with the right amount of disappointment. 

I chuckle. 

"Maybe, just maybe if you are a little bit good to me today I might kiss you" I say and he shakes his head, resting his chin on my head so that my face is in his chest. 

We stay like that for a while until the washer dings and I step away. 

"Do you want to come with me when I go see Gina tomorrow?" 

He looks surprised but he nods. 

"I'd like that" he says. 

"See you later honey" I say and he cringes. 

"Babe, we have to work on your nicknames for me" He says and I burst out laughing.

I carry the tray of champagne around as I clench my feet in my heels. 

Jesus, I need a foot massage. 

I look at my boyfriend in his wonderful tux and he winks at me, I quickly look away, no need for his brother to catch us giving each other goggly eyes. 

"It's okay grams, Xavier has better things to do than watch you and my brother eye bang each other" 

Bryant say from besides where I'm trying to rest feet. 

"Don't talk to me, I'm working" 

"I own you, i can talk to you" 

I roll my eyes, someone has to tell knox's that no one owns me, I own my self. 

"Well master, I'm working, move on or buzz off" 

He shakes his head and eventually moves away. 

This dinner seems to be an initiation of sorts, a way for the knox's to tell high society that they are still and will always be on top. 

Xavier is somewhere across the room, lording over the mere mortals, it's obvious that they don't mind, they do everything to gain the attention of any of the knox's. 

Even Tyler has his own share of attention, I feel proud to see him being so diplomatic. 

Sh*t. 

I walk around again and I sway on my feet, it's almost ¹ in the morning, isn't it time for someone to call an end to this soiree? 

I turn around and immediately someone bumps into me, note I said bump into me not the other way around. 

My tray of champagne up ends and I know, I just know that I have made a monumental mistake. 

"What the hell?" A man asks as he steps back away from the puddle of champagne. 

"I'm really very..." I begin but shut my trap when I see the fist coming for my face. 

I cower when it hits me and the room goes silent. 

Stars burst In front of my eyes and I feel blood spill from my nose. 

"You f*cking stupid fool, do you know how much this suit costs" 

His fist comes for my face again but it never contacts because Tyler is there, holding onto the fist of the man, a menacing expression on his face. 

"What are you doing?" The man asks him, trying to shake Tyler off. 

"What are you trying to do in my house?" Tyler replys and immediately guards which are not Knox's guard surrounds us. 

I place a hand to my bleeding lip as every where really quietens. 

"Do you know who I am?" The man asks and my heart skip when I get a good look at him. 

It's Carlisle Wallace, Xavier's rival, I remember Bryant pointing him out to me at the beginning of the evening and telling me to stay away. 

The man will do anything just to go to  war with the Knox's. 

"I look like I give a damn? You are hurting what's mine" I would really love to  let Tyler fight my battles and all that but this... This isn't good. 

Tyler has to keep a good reputation else Xavier will book him, if not that, Wallace will book him. 

"Tyler, that's enough I'm fine" I say, grabbing at his hand. 

The man, Wallace looks at me before looking at Tyler. 

"Do you want to go to war over a housemaid?" 

When he says this Bryant steps forward to stand besides Tyler. 

"Say that again" He says in a cool voice. 

Oh no, this isn't going well. 

"Xavier! are you going to let your children embarrass me over a servant?" When he says this my eyes fly up to see Xavier standing there, his eyes on me. 

"Xavier? Over a house maid?" Wallace says. 

Without taking his eyes off me he says. 

"You heard my children, get your hands off our family" He says and my heart skips. 

The whole room freezes and some gasps ensues. 

Even Tyler is startled because his eyes looks to Xavier. 

I'm sure it's a wonder, Xavier Knox just proclaimed a house maid his family. 

Oh, sh*t.

I'm surprised! The funniest thing is that I didn't see this coming!
