**** JASON'S POV

Sweat trickle down my face and I wipe it with the back of my hand.

"Get up!!!" 

I get a kick in my stomach and I topple over groaning.

Panting, I lift my hands in surrender.

"Take five!"

The command rings in my ear and I hear people shuffling about.

"Here"

an outstretched hand holding a bottle of water makes me lift my head up. 

I stare at Alex who's grinning sheepishly.

"Wipe that stupid smile off your face"

I scowl at him and his grin only widens.

Stupid idiot.

Ugh.

My entire body hurts.

I roll over and lie flat on my back inside the boxing ring.

Alex has been teaching me a few useful defence and attack techniques in fighting since I Left the hospital after Frank carried out various tests on me.

I uncork the bottle and gulp a considerate amount of water.

Feeling much better and hydrated, I lift myself up and glance over at Alex who's suspiciously calm after so many hours of training.

"Where did you learn how to fight like that?" 

I ask curiously.

"A man should be able to fight and defend when the need arises right?"

"Don't give me that you stupid dork! Why are we even best friends?"

I groan and he chuckles.

"Because you can't live without me sweetheart"

he says and I grimace.

"Do not let anyone hear you calling me that. I don't want them thinking I'm interested in you

He chuckles some more and I throw the bottle at him.

"Just tell me!"

"Let's just say I learnt quite a few tricks while growing up"

he shrugs, totally evading my question.

Hmm.

Someones keeping secrets now eh?.

"Up!! Five minutes break are over.!"

He hits me as he gets up.

I grumble as I get back on my feet ready for round three of training. 

I hear my phone vibrate and i ignore it again.

It's probably Sarah calling again.

Today is gonna be a long day.

HAILEY'S POV 6:00PM.

"Where's this brother of mine?!"

Theresa whines as she nears my door.

I sigh.

I've been thinking the same thing.

It's been hours since he left.

Theresa barges into the room just then, a deep scowl on her face.

"I'm gonna rip his intestines apart when he returns.

Is that how to welcome his sister?"

She plops herself on the bed.

I keep mute as she continues to mutter cuss words at her brother.

I sigh again.

I just hope he returns to me safe.

"Wow. Nice"

Theresa comments beside me and I turn to see her studying the necklace around my neck.

"Oh.. Umm.."

"Jason gave it you"

she smiles.

For a moment, I thought she was going to get angry at the fact that her brother had given me the necklace she gifted him.

But several seconds pass by and she's still smiling, staring at me like she just caught me robbing a bank.

"What?"

I question and she smirks.

"You and my brother. There's something between you two"

she says and I feel my cheeks heat up instantly.

Stupid cheeks.

I turn away.

"Ha! I caught you!"

She squeals and I force my self to frown.

"You haven't caught me. I didn't steal anything!"

"You stole his heart and he stole yours! Oh my God! Jason finally fell in love. I always thought he was a homosexual!" 

I gasp and clamp my hand over Theresa's mouth to shut her up.

"Quiet! Someone might hear you. Shhh".

"Promise you won't make a sound when I let go?"

I ask and she nods.

Slowly I take my hand off her mouth and she grins.

"Tell me. Everything"

"Tell you what?"

"Oh don't play dumb. Tell me how you to met?"

I bite my lip, blushing

"well"

Mrs Michaels was in her room, Olivia asleep beside her when her phone rang.

"Hello? Son where are you?... Hailey? But why? Okay fine"

she hangs up and grins.

HAILEY'S POV

"...And then we kissed..." 

I stop talking when Theresa's phone rings.

She picks it up immediately.

"Brother!!"

She squeals

"where were you? Wait what?.. Ugh I hate you!!!"

She frowns throwing the phone to me.

"He wants to talk to you."

She grumbles and I place the phone to my ear.

"Hey Hails"

I hear his deep voice and I swoon.

"H..hey Jason..".

"Before you say anything just know that I'm fine. I want you to get dressed. Go downstairs, a Dress will be delivered to you, wear it and wait for me downstairs in an hours time. I have a surprise for you. See you soon beautiful"

and then he hangs up.

I turn to Theresa who's earlier grim expression was now replaced by a smile.

"Surprise eh?"

She wiggles her eyebrows at me and I blush.

"Why are the lights out?"

I ask Theresa as we descend the stairs.

Everywhere is pitch black.

I gather the hem of the long shimmering white flowing gown I'm wearing and continue walking.

"Ouch. Get your ridiculous wings off my face"

Theresa groans.

"Oops sorry"

Yep wings.

The dress that arrived had large wings attached to the back and I wonder why.

I stop at the foot of the stairs and wait.

One minute, two,three minutes.

No sign.

I'm getting impatient by the second.

What surprise did Jason have in store for me? Well I didn't have to wonder for long.

"You're breathtakingly beautiful"

I feel his breath on my neck and I spin around so fast that I trip and strong arms wrap my waist,holding me in place.

The light instantly comes on and I'm face to face with Jason.

My heartbeat begins to accelerate at the mere sight of him.

Dear God.

His hair falls on my face I pull it back and tuck it behind his ear.

Jason stares at me and I feel giffy, butterflies.

No buffalos.

Yep, I feel Buffalos and elephants in my stomach not butterflies.

"Hailey"

he breaths before bringing his lips to mine and kissing me ever so softly. 

I kiss him back for all it's worth.

"Ahem"

someone coughs and we instantly pull apart.

"Dude, we're here on a mission not to be sucking each others faces"

the guy who coughed remarks and Jason glares at him..

"Shut up!"

"Get to it then!"

Jason turns to me and takes my hand in his.

"Jason what's all this for?" 

I ask and he clears his throat.

"Unison"

"Unison?"

"Yes.I.. Well.. I wanted to reunite you with the person you love the most. I.. Asked my mother to lure my dad out of the house for a reason. Hailey, I may or may not come back to you alive tomorrow"

"Jason please."

I choke but he stops me with his fingers on my lips.

"Let me finish please.. Like I said, I may or may not return tomorrow that's why I wanted to do this. To make you happy tonight because you deserve it and more. I asked you to put on this attire because that's what I wanted.

. I wanted Olivia to see you as an angel. Her Angel. Ever since she started to crawl, I began to draw pictures of an Angel with huge wings and I would tell her. 'Hey Livy, you see this Angel, she's your mommy.' And when she was old enough to walk, I would take her out and point to the skies. I would tell her her mother is up there in heaven and she'll one day fly down to earth with her huge wings and come get her. I wanted to imprint the notion of an angelic mother in her little brains so that the day you'll return, she'll recognize you. Because you're her Angel"

he pauses to wipe my tears that were starting to flow.

I shake my head and step back.

She won't accept me.

I'm sure.

Olivia won't accept me.

"Hailey, Olivia loves you.

You know how I know? Because she has so many dresses with wings attached to it.

I made her believe her mommy will come back one day dressed like you are right now.

And that day is today, here and now. It's time to reunite with your daughter.

She needs you.

You need her.

She'll accept you faster at this tender age.

Your daughter awaits you Hailey.

I already explained to her that her angelic mommy is back, in the form of aunty Hailey.

After today I'll be content, because I reunited mother and daughter.

Go get your girl Hails".

Jason steps back and behind him stood Olivia wearing a similar dress as mine with wings.

She stares at me without a word.

I watch as Jason kneels before her and whispers something to her.

Several minutes pass and she still doesn't budge.

There and then I knew I had lost my baby.

I breakdown.

My knees give away and I fall to the floor crying.

Jason's words are too heavy for me.

It hurt.

It hurt so bad.

"I'm sorry Olivia. I'm so sorry for leaving you. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry..."

I cry.

Like I've never cried before, not when Mrs Rodriguez was shot under my nose.

Not when I was molested many times.

Not when I was forced to take in drugs. 

I didn't cry so much then.

The realisation hit me so hard.

I'm a mother.

And my baby is standing in front of me without moving an inch.

I'm never gonna get her to love me.

I'm such a loser and a coward.

But I was wrong.

I was so wrong.

Because I felt tiny,soft hands on my cheeks wiping my tears.

I look up to see Olivia standing in front of me, her eyes shinning as she stares at the wings at my back.

She stares at Jason and then at me and then the wings again.

And then when she opens her mouth, she says the words I never thought would sound like music to my ears.

With her little hands wiping my tears, she calls out

"Mama!"
