The Man I Love - Episode 7

 persuaded.

Hani received a call from Vil to come over 
so she could meet his father.

 On her arrival, they both sat on the couch 
in the sitting room waiting for Vil' s father. 

Finally his father arrives, walking
 majestically down the stairs for the house
 was a duplex, built by Vil’s mum.

 She had fortune stashed up within and 
outside Nigeria.

Hani suddenly became unaeasy...

“daddy, this is the woman I want to marry” Vil said holding Hani’s hands with so much 
smiles on his face.

 His father looks at her for a while...

“you! Are you not the same Lady that Emeka introduced to  us as his fiancee?” He said 
pointing towards her with a surprise look.

Vil’s and his father were in shock…

"everyone in the church knows her as the
 wife to be of our youth president, who is 
like a son to me, a very loving an amazing
 personality.

 I wonder why anyone would think of
 hurting him, we were only waiting for you
 to return from NYSC so we could bless you both, 

how could you dash his hopes just like that?

 I tried reaching out to you several times so we could resolve the issues between the two of you but you were elusive and manage to elude me all these time,

 "I'm sorry to say this Vil, but you can't
 present her in the church”.

By this time Hani could not hold back the
 tears dripping from her eyes,

She ran outside crying uncontrollably. Vil
 was about going after her when his father
 held his hand.

"My son, I know you have a lot of questions on your mind, do not bother about the 
money you’ve already spent on the
 preparations, money is not a problem to
 this family,

 there are persons in the church that can
 sponsor different aspects of your wedding, 

you can even organise everything yourself without blinking, your mother is there also, she’s is capable.

Everything is possible my son, I don't want 
you to feel like I'm forcing anything on you. 

How do you expect me to face my youth
 president knowing I gave the love of his life to my son.

Moreover, if you are bothered about the
 scandal of calling off the wedding
 arrangements, forget about that because no one is above mistakes.

 I'm sure the families of the Hani won't bear a grudge against us seeing that everything is complicated

As his father was talking his phone 
suddenly rings...

it was Emeka, he said he had something to 
discuss with him after service tomorrow. 

The pastor also told him he wanted to have a meeting with him and the elders 
tomorrow at the close of the service.

The call ended and the conversation
 between father and son continued...

“That was Emeka, the youth president "

“But daddy", Vil interrupted

"how do you expect me to marry a stranger, this girl you are talking about that you have for me, I don't even know her,

 how can I marry her just like that and this month end at that. What if she has someone  else in mind and besides what if she doesn't like me or what if I don’t like her?

I don’t even have enough time to get to
 know her, remember I’m the one that is
 going to live with her not you...” he
 complained.

"Wait let me speak to her" his father
 suggested.

He brought out his phone from his right 
pocket and scrolled through his contact list pausing on seeing the contact he was 
searching for, he dials the number and it 
rings..

“hello my daughter, how are you? “

"Daddy, I’m fine thank you Sir, 

She replies with so much excitement on her voice. 

I'm so happy you called, is there anything 
you want me to do sir?" She asked.

"not really, I was wondering dear, are you in a relationship?" He asked

"No sir, I'm not"

“Is there someone you like?"

"Ehm..ehn.. Not really Sir" she stammered.
