The Missionary's Journey - Episode 6
In a cold starless night under no prying eyes, voices drummed, "So, you have finally met him?" the first voice said. It was a dark skinned woman leaning on a tree. Her skin matched with the darkness and only her eyes and teeth were bright. She looked up at the fading half moon, listening to the cries of the animals that echoed through the night. She inhaled the cool air of the night, occasionally slapping away the buzzing mosquitoes that disturbed her.
"Yes mama. I did," another voice answered. It was the girl, standing close to her and their eyes brimmed at each other.
"The high priest will be proud.

. You have done well. I will inform him. How was the boy?"
"He is quite vulnerable, you can use him."
"Tou mean we can use him. Remembered WE! Never forget that," she said brimming in happiness and she spat.
The girl dropped her head to the ground. "I am sorry mama," she said.
The woman hissed and sighed, "You can go now, I have matters to attend to. Mrs Igbonna thinks she can get away with calling me a fool this afternoon

The girl swallowed, shivering in the chilly night as she walked away, muttering, "Yes mama."
The woman transformed into a sparrow and flew towards Mrs Igbonna’s house. The girl, Ifeyinwa kept walking, looking at her mother, sighed and went home.
