Dance With Me - Episode 13

Adams went for a run in, after that unfortunate incident. The truth was that, he had no idea how things would get in between them after that and he needed to give her time to cool off while he did the same.

Crap!

He had walked in on her nakedness. What exactly was he supposed to say on seeing her?

“Hey, you are not perfect but wow! You blew me away?”

Oh no! That would never work.

He stopped to catch his breath for a while and began to think about what exactly he was supposed to say. He had so many things in his head to say initially and now, with this attached, everything just got even more complicated.

Argh! Why didn’t he think of her before opening that goddamn door and when he had entered why was she quiet when she could have screamed her head off?

He checked the time, it was already some minutes past ten, he had gone out for two hours, he needed to go back so as not to pass the wrong message , he would also need to do some practice.

“What do you mean he found you naked?” Candy asked over the phone.

“I mean, he found me stark naked in his bathroom.” Angy explained again and she had to take the phone from her ear as Candy’s scream filled the whole house.

“Quiet Candy! You are making things worse.” She said quickly.

She was through with the meal and was putting the plates on the kitchen table.

“Oh my God!’ Candy said and started laughing, “where is he now?”

“I don’t know,” Angy replied, “I haven’t seen him since I got out of the bathrrom.”

“Have you told Betty?”

“No, I called you first.”

Candy laughed again, “you know what, just get your butts to House 24 on time so we can make a joke out of it. Adams saw your cookies.” She laughed again.

. I have no idea how I’m supposed to relate with him now.”

“Well, you can come over to my place.”

“And share the house with your grandma? No way.”

Candy chuckled, “try joke about it.”

“What?”

“I mean,, make a joke out of it. If I know Adams very well, he must be feeling guilty for everything. He would be blaming himself right now so you need to let him realize that it isn’t a big deal. Make him comfortable else things will get weird between you two, I mean really weird and we need your head to be clear right now for the next choreography which is coming this Friday.”

“So I should lighten things up?”

“Yea, and you know what? I have the perfect make-up style for our next dance and...”

Angy sighed and ended the call. She was never going to stop. She heard a movement outside, she of course knew that would be Adams, he was back from wherever he had run to. Now, how was she going to make a joke out of it when she herself was still feeling weird about it.

Focus Angy! Focus! She said to herself, she could do this.  She walked out of the kitchen just as he was opening the door. He had his mp3 player in his ears and he was in a pair of sneakers, white T-shirt which was soaked in his own shirt and a pair of pyjamas. Clearly, he had gone for a run, perfect escape.

“Hey.” She started as he sighted her.

He looked up as if surprised that she was talking to him.

“Hi.” He replied, as awkward as he was feeling.

“You went for a run, perfect escape hun?”

For a while, he pretended as if he didn’t know what she was saying. “ Yea, I guess.” He replied, shutting the door.

“I don’t want things to be weird between us Adams, because of what happened.”

Adams nodded, “sure, I don’t want that too.” He replied, even though he wasn’t thinking as he replied. There was something about this lady which always made his brain switch off.

“Good, because believe me, I didn’t do that intentionally, the water was so cool that I forgot myself in it and I would have screamed but I just zoned out.”

He chuckled, she was being mature about the whole thing and that was a good thing. “Yea, I understand, and believe me, if I had known that you were inside...”

“Of course, I know Adams, it wasn’t your fault okay? Blame it on the super tub and the warm water.”

They both chuckled as they stood in the living room, discussing about what just happened as if it was a normal thing.

“Well, then, I guess you just made me feel better.” He admitted, walking further in.
“I wish I could get in your head right now and see what you are thinking.” She teased and he sniggered, “believe me, you don’t want to.”

“So you thinking naughty right?”

He laughed, “no, I’m not but...”

“But what...”she asked, jokingly, poking him with her finger.

“Funny, I didn’t even see anything.” He confessed.

“Not even a little bit?”

“Nope, I guess I was drunk in my sleep.

. The only thing I saw....”

“Yea, confession time!”

“Was just your face, that was all.”

She threw him a questionable look, “Really?” She asked.

“Yea. Too bad.” He replied jokingly and she laughed.

 “Come on, your food will get cold.”

“Oh, I got to eat! Thank God!” He said, walking to the kitchen.

“Yea, just because you didn’t see anything,” she joked.

“Ah ah, what If I had?”

“Then you will choke until you tell me the truth.” She replied and they  both laughed.

As they kept eating their pancake and coffee, they were joking and laughing. Adams was surprised at how things had just grown from bad to better in a short while, even before the whole incident, they have never gotten this close and he was enjoying every bit of the moment as well as the pancake.

“So, who did you think carried you in last night?” He asked after a while.

She thought for a while, “I don’t know, I just thought I have started walking in my sleep again.” She replied, laughing as he threatened to throw a plate at her but she dodged.

“You should have seen the way you were snoring last night, like a cow that went into a labor.”

“Liar! I have never snored in my life!” She blurted and he laughed.

“How would you know?”

“Have you seen a pretty girl that snores before?”

He nodded, “several.”

“Liar!” She shouted again, standing up, “I would have said a thank you for carrying me in last night but I wouldn’t.”

“Why not? If you don’t , I will just leave you in the car the next time.”

She chuckled, packing their plates, “as if you have the guts to do that.”

He looked surprised, “so now you are daring me?” He asked, standing up.

“You know you wouldn’t leave me there because you are a gentleman.” She said, “what if I get kidnapped, are you really willing to lose me just yet?” She asked, then continued, “but of course, I wouldn’t be surprised after all, I didn’t do anything last night. You could replace me at any time.” She said before walking to the kitchen.

That last statement got him, she was talking about his comment to her performance, when he had gotten tongue-tied and couldn’t say anything except that she was wonderful, but, wonderful was a good thing.

He smiled and sighed before following her to the kitchen. She was washing the plates.

Angy had no idea why she had said that, but she did. She had heard Betty and Candy talking about how Adams was so impressed and how he had even hugged them and all, but he just acted as if she had done nothing. Now that she remembered, it was what she had been thinking before falling asleep in the car the other night.

“Are you angry?” He asked behind her, he was standing so close that she shuddered at the tone of his low and sexy voice.

“Nope, I’m not.” She replied, clearing her throat.

Adams sighed, standing close to her while resting his back against the wall. He was looking at her while she was busy washing and cleaning.

“The truth was that, I didn’t know what to say.” He confessed.

“But you said it, so no big deal.” She stated but he held her hand in the water and she couldn’t even look at him.

“I should have told you how beautiful you were last night. You captured everyone’s heart last night, you were like the wind, the air, the lyrics...everything.”

As he held her hand and as they stood so close, she could feel her heart beating so fast, he was saying everything she wanted to hear but not really everything. Slowly, she looked up and she realized he was looking at her with the same intensity...

Adams had just realized that she had the most beautiful pair of eyes she had ever seen and he was drowning in them, even though their hands were in the soapy water, he felt warm from just her stare and he wanted more.  He leaned closer and she made no movement, it was like she wanted the same thing he wanted, whatever it was, he had no idea, all he knew was that they were both caught under a spell that got activated immediately he held her hand and now, he wanted more than just her hand. He wanted her lips too and those perfect body that he had seen earlier and he wanted to....the phone rang so suddenly from the living room with so much force that it cut across whatever spell they had been caught under.

“I will go check it.” He said quickly, stepping away from her and walking from the kitchen.

When he left the kitchen, Angy felt like whatever was blocking her breathing ability was gone and she inhaled a deep breath.

What just happened?

“Crap! Angy, hurry up, it’s past two already, we are really late and everyone is at work.”

“Yea, coming,” she said quickly and rushed through the rest of the things she wanted to do.
