Dance With Me - Episode 14

“Hey slow down...” Adams shouted at her as she rushed into the club.

“Easier for you to say, you are the boss not me.” She replied, opening the door, hoping to see Omega but to her dismay, it was Marcy.

An “oh” escaped her lips before she could stop herself.

Marcy was busy cleaning the cups. Their eyes met for a while but Marcy continued with what she was  doing.

Angy thought of how best to address the situation, as she walked inside. She wondered where her friends were, looking around, she couldn’t even find them.

Finally she got to the bar, “hi.” She said to Marcy.

“Hello, it’s your third day and you are already coming late.” Marcy accused, more to the cups she was cleaning.

For a while, Angy thought of talking back but she changed her mind but instead picked up another duster on the counter and grabbed one of the unclean cups...

“No, no, that is my job, you don’t need to do everyone’s job for them.” Marcy stated firmly.

“I was only trying to help.”

“You don’t need to help. No one asked you to.”

Angy dropped the cup and the duster, now she was angry.

“What exactly is your problem with me, Marcy?”

Marcy scoffed, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Damn right you do! You’ve had it for me from the first day that I got in here

. What exactly is your problem?”

Marcy wiped the outer part of the cup in her hand and then faced Angry, “my problem is you. Look I don’t trust you okay and I don’t like you. You are just like all those shady girls that come in here, make everybody think they are some lucky charm then all of a sudden, they disappear just when things started getting interesting. Others may not see you for who you are but I do!”

“How dare you think I am some shady girl. Look, I don’t know what you have been through or how much people have disappointed you but you have no right to accuse me like that. I am not responsible for any of them.”

“Really?  You think this is about how much people have disappointed me? This is about Adams! Okay. Now you are staying with him, how much time before you two start sleeping together and before he knows it, he is already in love with you too and then, you see the light and you opt on to the fastest train then I  start picking up the pieces.

. How much time ugh?”

Angy gasped, “I am not someone like that.”

“Then if you are not, why don’t you find yourself another place to stay instead of feeding off of your boss who apparently is too blinded by your beauty to say no. Then maybe I will finally believe that you are not the person you say you are, but I am never wrong, Adams always does this thing, help a lady, fall for them then they cheat on him and he starts all over again, the circle continues.”

The door opened and closed.

“Hi.” Said Adams who clearly  had no idea of what had just happened. “What’s going on here? Where is everybody?”

Angy was quiet.

“Hi boss. The girls went to the saloon to get new hair, Omega and Collins went to get new supplies.”

“Okay.” He replied. Adams knew that seeing Angy and Marcy like that would mean some trouble which he didn’t really want to figure out yet, “I will be in my office and Marcy...”

“Yes.” She replied.

“Did you get my message?”

“Yea, I did.”

“Can you please come to my office once you are done?”

For a while, Angy and Marcy exchanged glances, “sure no problem.”

“Angy, are you okay?” Adams asked as he walked to his office.

“Yea, I am. I will be in the changing room.” She said and rushed out of the place while Adams went to his office.

“Is there anything you need to tell me Marcy?” He asked when they were finally in his office.”

She shook her head.

“Please don’t do that. I know that you are probably angry about something or someone and I really want you to talk about it.”

“I am not angry about something or someone.” Marcy insisted.

“So, why have you decided not to be going home with me?”

She shrugged, “nothing, you have a new partner now and I didn’t want to intrude.”

“Come on Marcy. What are you talking about and what do you mean by partner? You are my friend, my closest friend.”

“Yea, but I realized that if it comes to her, your brain forgets that. I don’t know what is going on between you two but I don’t trust her and you will realize what I am saying very soon.”

Adams sighed, “what exactly do you want Marcy? Because you keep making things difficult. That girl has been working her ass off all this while and you keep misjudging her and...”

“Does she remind you of someone?”

Adams stopped, “what?”

“That girl, this whole charade of a star that is here to help the club, a beautiful angel sent from above to turn the finances of the club around, does it not remind you of someone?”

Adams was quiet.

“Right, it does right? Pretty  Rita, when she came to this bar and you fell for her, you asked her to move in and things became better for a little until she met with Adrian. When do you think she is also going to realize that this little show that you built around her is too small for her? When is she going to demand for something bigger from someone outside the club, maybe another Adrian will come in how many weeks time?”

Adams was quiet, unable to say anything and Marcy stood up, “well, you are the boss, not me, so whatever you think is best for the club, is your decision.” With this, she walked out of the room.
