My Past My Future - Episode 8

Its been two years now since my graduation.

I never met Tony again, Lizzy and I are still besties. 

Frank has been my back bone since.He is always there for me whenever I need him. In fact, he is a sweet heart.

But lately he has been cajoling me to write songs again which I am not ready for. It feels like I will be betrayed again because of it.

I am now working in the Ministry of Environment, my bestie is in Lagos doing what she knows how to do best "make over", she combined it with fashion designing and she is hitting it big.

We always visit each other once every month and this month is her turn to visit me which happens to be my birthday.

Its 4:35 pm and she is not yet here, coupled with I am the only one in the office now.

I am very worried because she promised to leave on time so that she will be here on time too and now she is not yet here, I am still in my office waiting for her so that we will go home together because I relocated from my former apartment which she has not been to before.

I was looking out of the window thinking when I perceived a familiar perfume and the noisy steps of no other person than my bestie.

The only person that walks into my office as if she is the general manager.

I turned excitedly facing the door but hiding my excitement, frowned and said

"You are late, its 5:00 already" looking at my wrist watch and still with my serious face.

"Awwwnnnn, somebody is missing me too much that she couldn't even welcome me before complaining" Are you that worried?

Lizzy the ever perfect lady said with her arms wide open, cat walking towards me

We engulfed each other in a tight hug for a long time and I felt completely at home because she is my home and my mother hen who always make me feel like I can do anything.

"Alright, alright, you are going to choke me in this tight hug. Can you leave me now before you spoil my makeup, besides am famished let's go already"

I chuckle

I hurriedly packed my bags and we went out chattering about things that happened in out separate world.

Indeed I have really missed my charter box, no dull moments with her. 
Tonight is going to be fun cus there is no way you are staying at home on a Friday night when you are with Lizzy.

. Am with my baby boo now, tomorrow is her birthday and am here to celebrate  with her.

I turned wondering where that is coming from but on seeing Lizzy making her video, pouting her mouth and smiling.

Hmmm, whoever she is with on the phone must be special to her.

I shakes my head muttering to myself "love is really good" remembering my last encounter with Tony.

The rest of the drive home was uneventful cus she was continually on the phone.

"We are home sweet heart" I said driving to car park.

Lizzy got down from the car and her drama started immediately

OMG, baby boo your house is sooo beautiful.......
She said strolling into the house leaving her bag for me to carry.
Typical of her, always the drama queen.
I carried the bag dutifully 

Going inside I met Lizzy already touring the house

"Mrs Pink, I know you have always love pink but why paint the whole bedroom pink but I must admit its well arranged and the beds are soft"

She laid down on the bed, jumping up and down. 

Gush, i thought this girl is grown up already

She brought out my diary of songs under the pillow, opened it and scanned through.

"Wow baby boo, this songs are really good and inspiring. Why didn't you look for a good firm and partner with them"

"Don't tell me you are still mourning your loss about Sam"

I stood there rooted to the spot not uttering a word

"Am I still mourning Sam" I asked myself

"Baby boo, bestie answer me now" she said, shaking me vigorously

I pretended not to notice

She continued opening the book

"You wrote this one too" pointing to the song I wrote after my last encounter with Tony.

I wrote it in line with "chemistry by simi" the music really made sense to me after I met Tony.

"Yea I did, but for now it means nothing to me" I said keeping my motions in check.

"Let's go get changed " I said trying to change the topic

The clicking sound of a phone camera brought me back to reality

"What are you trying to do" 

I snatched the book away from her
"Why will you want to snap my songs" I shouted angrily
